Happy, Happy Monday and Happy 4th of July Week!
This is one of my very favorite weeks of the entire year! I love the excitement around the holiday, all the summer fun, and the laid back vibe that accompanies the 4th. Plus, I LOVE this country so here we are…one of my favorite weeks. Nixon has a baseball tournament {are you seeing a theme to our summer-ha!} over the 4th of July weekend so we aren’t traveling this year over that weekend like we have in the past. Instead, we are slipping away on a few getaways over the next few weeks. Today, we’re heading out on a super last minute adventure that I can’t wait to share with you!
In the mean time my summer mom mode is in full force and I was thinking about the things I have AT ALL TIMES in the summer months. I rounded up a list of our Top Ten and am sharing today…

- Hydration Packets-With the summer heat + outdoor summer sports, I’m constantly trying to push hydration to all the kids but especially the boys. This is their favorite hydration packet with pink lemonade being the flavor of choice. But I’m always on the hunt for a good one. If you have a fave, please let me know!

2. Sunscreen-This Sun Bum sunscreen has become our sunscreen of choice. It’s a good price point, can be delivered via Amazon, and does a great job keeping the burns at bay. All of us can burn so on the baseball field, at the pool, etc. I keep this JUST in case we need it.

3. While we’re on the subject of sunscreen, this after the sun lotion is always on hand as well. It’s an aloe lotion that smells like summer. Just what you need after a day out in the sun!

4. Coconut Melt-Nothing says, “summer” to me quite like a Coconut Melt. I’ve been buying these for years every summer. It just feels so much more hydrating than a lotion. I just it all summer long, but especially when we’re at the beach where my skin gets extra dry.

5. Coffee & Creamer-Tab and I are fans of any type of “pecan” coffee. This is our latest coffee addiction….Toasted Southern Pecan. I keep this creamer in the refrigerator at all times. Really, I keep these things in stock ALL year long but we periodically change up the coffee.

7. Popsicles-I don’t keep popsicles at our house during the year except the summer months. Britt is an ice fan so a popsicle is one of her dream foods. ha! She loves any and every type of popsicle. I get all kinds but the Mango Outshine bars are my favorite right now. We swam in our pool this weekend and this was THE most refreshing snack mid-day.
8. RAZORS…need I say more?!

9. Goggles-Britt is living her best life this summer with many, many days spent in the pool. She’ has neighbors and friends join often and these goggles are THE EASIEST for me to change to fit any face. Let’s talk about how far goggles have come. Do you remember adjusting these when we were kids?!

10. Pool Toys-I’ve bought MANY over the years and really these bounce balls are the ones I purchase year after year.
What are YOUR summer musts?!
Thanks for popping in to read today!
XO

I love the cool down too!!
Question: How deep is your pool, etc? What do your kids do in it? Any fun games? We had one put in over winter and to my surprise, my kids don’t really enjoy going out in it!
Hi Christy! Now as teenagers they typically play basketball the most. Do you have a basketball hoop on the side? I’d recommend that BUT I agree…as they age, they use it less and less. When friends are here or we go out as a family, is when it’s used the most.
Kopari is AMAZING! Yes, yes, yes!
I love this country too but man oh man do we have A LOT of work to do!
Can you suggest one of your favorite Bible studies of all
time? I know you have shared some before, but I couldn’t remember. I have been doing the hydration drink LMNT.
Hi Jamie! I LOVED Angie Smith’s Seamless. I’ve done it twice and learned something new both times. It’s a study that can be used by anyone…new believers or old!
Hi! I’m sure I’m being paranoid but when you mentioned that your daughter likes ice it made me think of my daughter when she was a little girl. She always wanted ice and we discovered she was anemic. Craving ice is a big side effect of anemia. I’m sure your sweet girl is fine but just thought I’d mention it. Hope you all are having the best summer!
Hi Jackie! Thanks for sharing! I have a college friend who was ADDICTED!! And in college learned she was anemic so I’ve experienced this with her. We’ve had Britt’s bloodwork done and she was fine but definitely something I should check into again. Thank you!
Adjusting goggles can be a challenge! The stress when the band would slip out! These look great!
OH YES!! WHY are they so hard?
Great and practical list! I need to get some of the Kopari coconut melt. I used to love that product, but I guess I ran out of it and forgot about it! Need to order pronto!
It’s something I pull out only in the summer!
