What’s Up Wednesday

I’m joining MelShay, and Sheaffer for their What’s Up Wednesday link-up!

What we’re eating this week:

Monday: We celebrated Marla’s birthday at The Cheesecake Factory!  Mama had the night off.  ðŸ™‚

Tuesday:  We had Brisket Tacos with avocados, onions, and cheese.  YUM!

Wednesday:  We’re having Angel Chicken tonight in between #allthepractices.

Thursday:  Pizza Joe’s are on the menu and definitely a crowd pleaser in our house.

Friday:  We’ll eat out!  #andkeepthekitchenclean

What I’m Reminiscing About:

Last year at Halloween we knew we were missing someone but we hadn’t seen her sweet face just yet.  This year we can’t wait to introduce Britt to trick-or-treating and all the fall fun.  Everyday my big kids change their mind on who or what they think Britt should be for Halloween.  If it was up to them, we’d buy her seven costumes and she’d wear a different one daily during Halloween week.  ðŸ˜‰  If you’re looking for a little Halloween costume inspiration, be sure to check out Monday’s post.

What I’m Loving:

I’m loving all our rodeo memories from a couple weekends ago.  Seriously had the best time!  Tab has an “off weekend” soon and I contemplated us going back to the rodeo-we had THAT much fun!

I’m loving this top and according to the e-mails I’ve gotten…you guys are too!  Good news-it’s being price matched now and is 30% off!

I’m loving our good news from the doctor and the fact that this girl can EAT again!  WAHOO! She’s been doing great!  Eating anything and everything.  We switched over to sippy cups because after two weeks of no bottle why would we go back?  She doesn’t seem to care one bit about the bottles being gone.  Thank goodness!

And I’m also loving enjoying my morning (and afternoon) cup of coffee from these pumpkin mugs.  #itmakesmefeelfestive

I’m loving that there’s a new version of my LEOPARD BOOTIES out.  Two versions actually.  You can see them both here (and there’s a taller option as well).  I’d say the pair I’m wearing above is like the middle pair in the link.  I wear my leopard booties so much.  Mine are looking WORN so I bought this pair for myself.  They fit very similar to my old pair but the leopard pattern is a bit smaller.  That’s the main difference.

What We’ve Been Up To:

Tab has been having “Big Kid Football Weekends”.  Each of the big kids have had a turn to go on a little road trip with Tab, spend the night, attend one of his football games, and get a bit spoiled being the “only” kid for the weekend.  This past weekend Bowen got to head to Stillwater for the OSU vs. TCU game.

Prior to his weekend away, Shay asked about Bowen going to the zoo with Tab and after much discussion we figured out that if you say, “You’re going to the OSU/TCU game” three times fast it almost sounds like, “You’re going to the ZOO”.  Bowen had told Mrs. Shay he was going to the zoo on his football trip.  Luckily, we cleared it all up before they left town.  Not that football isn’t fun, but when you’re four-the zoo is WAY cool.

His exact words were, “Mom, it was AWESOME but SO hot!”.  hahaha!  And I love that he has his suitcase out like all the guys.

What I’m Dreading:

Nothing at the moment, but that kind of makes me think I’m forgetting something??

What I’m Working On:

I’m SO happy to report the girls’ room is finally finished!  We needed to add some last minute touches and while I was out of town Marla flew in and saved the day.  I’ll be showing you the girls’ room very soon.

What I’m Excited About:

A few girlfriends and I just checked out another resort in Mexico (Secrets Maroma Beach) and we had the VERY BEST TIME!   All us mamas took a break from bathing kids, homework, carpool, and cutting up food to enjoy a little relaxation.  It was exactly what my soul needed.  I’m excited about sending some new travel clients to this exact resort (we loved it) in the next month.  We’ve also been busy planning lots of spring break Disney World trips and cruises.  If you’d like help with your next vacation, please reach out to us at mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com.  We’d love to help your family with their next vacation!

What I’m watching/reading:

What did you guys think about the finale?

I was so happy for Josh but SHOCKED he won.  Anyone else?  I found myself feeling bad for Paul.  He definitely has mastered the art of the game of Big Brother but I think all the jury was a bit too bitter for the majority to give him their vote.

I’m currently reading…

I just couldn’t get into Just Life.  I have such a hard time “quitting” a book but I was getting no where with this one.

What I’m Listening To:

All the country music…I’ve been in a country mood over here.  #still

What I’m Wearing:

The temperature isn’t screaming FALL just yet where we live, but I did spot several tops I’ve featured before on the blog that are all on sale.  I wanted to share those with you.  This Free People sweater is on sale now.

This Free People sweater is being price matched now.

This stripe sweater (under the jacket and hard to see) is on sale as well.

And this ruffle sweatshirt is 50% off at the moment!

What I’m Doing This Weekend:

Our weekend is going to be full of watching this guy do his thing.  Nixon has THREE games this weekend.  Sidenote…isn’t baby Nixon so stinkin’ cute?

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Fall.
It hasn’t really happened yet here in Texas so I’m going to look forward to it happening next month.  ðŸ™‚

What New Television Show are you Looking Forward to the Most?
This isn’t happening in the fall, but I believe in January…Big Brother is having their first ever Celebrity addition.  I’m STOKED about watching it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  XO

Girl! If you loved the mesquite rodeo, y'all really should road trip down for Houston's rodeo in March. It's EPIC!!! Your kids would LOVE it and the live entertainment cannot be beat. Since you guys love the state fair so much, it would be right down your alley 🙂

I bet Bowen was such a hit last weekend with all the guys! He is the funniest kid ever! I just love him. And poor Paul. But I'm so glad Josh won. Paul HAS one $100,000 from BB now though so I don't feel too bad. If he'd have played with some heart as well I think the jury would have voted for him. He was almost TOO good!

I couldn't believe Paul didn't win! #alwaysabridesmaid And yes…baby Nixon is too cute! Can't wait to see all of your Halloween pics this year. Carter is going as a soccer playe, so we don't even have to order a costume! I feel like I'm winning at life. 🙂

Sounds so cute! Share a picture of Bowen in the hat. Have you toured the OSU stadium? That would be a fun weekend for your family. I'm biased but Stillwater is the best college town. You can't go wrong with the small town, super friendly campus, new athletic facilities/football stadium, incredible academic donors and Eskimo Joe's cheese fries!

OK, I just have to weigh in on some BB.
I wanted Paul to win. He played the best game and really did have everyone in his pocket the entire time! I mean… the guy managed to have 6 different comps thrown to whoever he wanted. Sure, he was kind of a jerk at times this season but its BIG BROTHER. That is the game if you want to win. Having a bitter jury vote for the winner is the worst.

I cannot wait for Big Brother Celebrity. Which will be followed closely by Big Brother Season 20 next summer which apparently is going to be awesome. I guess I should live it up now because come January to September 2018, I will apparently not have a life. LOL.

BB was such a snooze fest this year in MJ opinion. Clearly they should have had a jury house show, because you know Cody campaigned and worked that for Josh. Yay for the celebrity edition in January!! 🙂

Im dying for a pair of leopard booties! I have the leopard Toms wedges, and those don't get enough love, so I just can't justify it yet.

Those suede slides/mules with the bows on top are darling. My feet are too wide and heels too ugly for those, but you are rocking them!
