Photo Every Hour (Kind of)

First up, I wanted to announce the winner of the Falling for Fall Giveaway…

SHALIMAR CABRERA
Congratulations!!

**************************************************

I must tell you guys.  I started this photo-by-the-hour post off strong and by the end of the day not so much.  This is my excuse…I’ve never really had any fall allergy issues.  Usually in the spring, I have a week of not feeling great but that’s it.  I don’t know what is happening, but I must be allergic to the air in Texas right now.  My eyes hurt, nose is running, I’m coughing…I’m a mess.  I’m taking medicine but I don’t think it’s doing a thing.

I’m not the only one suffering in my house.  We’re all struggling just a bit.

This is a typical Tuesday around here.  I tried my best to capture one picture at the top of every hour…

5:00
My alarm went off and I got started on my Bible Study.  Right now, I’m going through the All in All devotional and the You Are Loved eight week study.

6:00
I then got some blog work done before it was time to wake the kiddos up.

 7:00
Lunches are packed, backpacks are ready and waiting by the back door.

8:00
I don’t know what happened when I backed out of the garage to take the kiddos to school-I somehow ran into this pot.  It’s here everyday so I’m blaming it on the allergies.  The pot crumbled on this one side.  Too much of it was then hanging in the garage so the garage door wouldn’t close.  A mess!

 9:00
I got ready, picked up the little Shulls, and dropped Bowen, Ashby, and Madeley off at preschool.  Shay and I carpool to/from preschool.

10:00
Britt had therapy right after drop off.  Her therapist brought out this fall painting they did while she was working today.  And I got the news…she started crawling!  I really thought she’d be one of those kids that skipped crawling all together but for developmental purposes it’s really important she learns.  So we’ve been working on it and she nailed it (kind of) during therapy.  They came out showing me her skills.

11:00
We had to run in the grocery store to grab a few things after therapy and this breakfast burrito was speaking to me.  SO good!

12:00
Britt and I had lunch and then we practiced her crawling skills a little bit more.  She’s a fan of music on the I-Pad so I used that as the “bait” during our practice.

1:00-2:00
While Britt napped, I got a ton of travel work done (but I didn’t take a picture of that because everything had names).

3:00
I picked up the kiddos from school and they got right to work on their homework.

This is where I stopped taking pictures…I had brisket in the slow cooker for dinner that I prepared just a bit around 5:00, Shay picked up Ebby Lee to take to dance, then I went to grab the girls after class, I cleaned up the kitchen, and we were off to baseball at 7:00.

8:00-9:00
The game started at 7:30 p.m. and was over around 8:45 p.m.

8:45
Someone needed their diaper changed.  🙂  When you’re the youngest of four, you get to stay up WAY TOO LATE on a school night when your older brother has baseball games.

When we got home, I bathed Britt, put her to bed, and let Tab get the older kiddos to bed.  I took the only allergy medicine we had in the house and was OUT!

If you see me around today, this is how it’s going so far.  🙂

Hope you have the best Thursday!  XO

I found that Zyrtec and Flonase have helped my allergies tremendously. When the c dar pollen count gets really high, I have to add Allegra-D to the mix. Hope you get some relief soon!

Love these posts :). I am not loving allergy season. I had my first stye in both eyes from so much eye rubbing from allergies so I feel you momma! And I don't know exactly what it is but we are all suffering here too. Yay for Britt crawling! xoxo ERIN

How exciting to see your little one crawling! I always feel the youngest kids are the ones who have to and do go with the flow the most/best. What a great character trait for adulthood!

There is a virus going around that seems like allergies – if you have a fever it might be a virus instead!

Ragweed is going to be the death of us all. I take a Claritan D-24hr every single morning. It has to be the D, the behind the pharmacy counter version. I also flush my eyes out in the morning with allergy eye drops. And I have the Flonase on standby. If I've been outside in the evening, I take a shower and wash my hair. You don't want to go to bed with all that ragweed in your hair, you will feel worse in the morning.

Good luck. Pray for cold weather!

I feel your allergy pain! I'm on allergy shots because mine are so bad and I'm allergic to at least one thing every season in Oklahoma. It's a real joy 😉 I second what the others have said – Allegra or Zyrtec, nasal spray, saline, humidifier, etc.

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all that allergy mess!! Craig is a nightmare when his allergies act up. I know I told you this the other night, but he sneezes like 15 times in a row every time and each one shakes the house. No lie. 😉 I should probably be more sympathetic. haha. I do feel bad for him. AmyRay (above) had some good advice. Craig does all of that and it seems to help.

Ugh, I've had horrible fall allergies for almost ten years now and my allergist FINALLY just got them under control this year! I was just telling Shay yesterday to take Xyzal (it's the newest allergy med on the market), Flonase for your stuffy nose (it is seriously a miracle worker), and Alaway eyedrops for itchy eyes. Also a miracle worker. The best part is that all of these are over the counter so you don't need prescriptions! Praise hands!

You ladies in Texas with the allergies! Have you tried essential oils? I can send you a roller that helps soooo many people during the seasonal changes!

I know I'm late responding but feel your pain with the allergies. I take Zyrtec year round because of various allergies like mold that's always in season. It's great for itchy watery eyes and keeps away most of my sinus headaches. I do have a warning about it they don't tell you this but it can have a boomerang effect when you get off it. I tried recently and was itchy all over and even got hives on my back. I'll try again after ragweed season and do it very slowly. I used to do Flonase for a long time but got nosebleeds pretty bad after a while as did a couple of my friends.

I recently went to a talk by a local acupuncturist (Carrollton) and she said they can help with allergies. I did that many years ago and it did help for at least a year but I didn't go back. May revisit that when I give up Zyrtec. A lot of people swear by Netti pots also but make sure you don't use tap water.

    Good luck.
