What’s Up Wednesday-7.26.23

What’s Up Wednesday! I’m gonna link up with Sheaffer and Shay to answer a little about what’s going on around here.

What We’re Eating This Week

Monday-I’ve hit that stage in the kitchen where I’m over all summer meals! I had to preface that for you before I told you we had chicken spaghetti for dinner last night and it was delish! All four of my kids loved it!

Tuesday-We met friends who’d been out of town for dinner.

Wednesday-And tonight I have two sets of mom friends getting together for dinner so Tab and kids are on their own. #goodluck

Thursday-Bowen, Britt, and I are headed to Missouri to celebrate my grandparents’ 70th Wedding Anniversary! The big kids have things so Tab is staying here with them. Needless to say, Tab will be handling dinner the rest of the week.

Friday-My entire family-should be 39 people but is gonna be 36 of us together for the weekend. I’m so excited to see everyone. It’s basically like a family reunion weekend…swimming/pizza Friday night, a potluck get together on Saturday and church with more food on Sunday.

What I’m Reminiscing About

Apparently we were visiting our Missouri family around this time five years ago…look how little they were!

What I’m Loving

This blazer pleasantly surprised me! I’m loving the look…it’s a tan/black combination and I plan on wearing a white or black bodysuit underneath with jeans. Isn’t it cute?

And how cute is this sweater? I had a similar sweater years ago and loved the look with a more tailored/skinny jean. I’m in my typical size and once again, am loving it!

What We’ve Been Up To

Last weekend one of our favorites families, Tab’s cousin’s family, was in town. They have four kids as well and are just a bit ahead of us in this parenting game so it was fun to hang out with them. We got to watch their oldest son play baseball and then met them later that night for dinner.

The Slaughter boys must have taken themselves and a big case of bad luck to the Rangers’ game on Saturday. haha! The boys had these plans on Saturday while Britt went to hang with M and Ebby Lee and I hit up the mall for back to school shopping.

What I’m Working On

CLOSETS-I’m trying to make sure the kids’ closets are organized before our fall gets too crazy. Britt’s closet is up next!

What I’m Excited About

Guess what show premiers on my BIRTHDAY??! Big BROTHER! I’m excited about watching!

What I’m Watching/Reading

Just last week I shared the books I’ve been reading this summer and a couple are MUST READS!! Have you read the post?

Tab and I are making our way through Quarterback, that new show on Netflix that follows three NFL quarterbacks through a season. It’s so good!

What I’m Listening To

Right this second the construction crew is back and there approximately seven guys in our house so I’m out back {SWEATING} working in the quiet. 😉

What I’m Wearing

Guys, it’s officially hit CRAZY HOT here in Texas so I’m wearing anything that helps me remotely stay cool. Surviving right now!

What I’m Doing This Weekend

Hanging with our Missouri Family for three fun-filled days!

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

FOOTBALL SEASON kicking off!! Nixon will play middle school football, Bowen will play 7v7, Tab will start his fourth year officiating, AND I’ll be kicking off my second year of Fantasy Football. Bahahaha! I’m seriously so excited about that!

Thanks for reading today!

XO

I loved watching QB and I always knew I really liked Kirk Cousins, but just love their family now! I love his faith and how he proclaims it boldly and how he takes time to do the thank you notes on Tuesday.

I’m SO excited about Big Brother. It starts so much later than usual. Also Quarterback was great! I’m obviously a Chiefs game, so the Mahomes segments were my favorite, but now I’m a Kirk Cousins fan as well!
