What we’re eating this week:
Apparently, it’s TACO WEEK in the Slaughter House!
Monday: Back-to-School and back to after school activities. I threw a brisket in the slow cooker and we had Crunchy Brisket Tacos for dinner. Delish!
Tuesday: Baked fish and veggies…sound boring to me, but my kiddos love this meal.
Wednesday: We’re having Italian Sausage Tacos.
Thursday: Thursday nights are going to be our busiest. They will always be slow cooker night at our house. This week it’s Crock Pot Chicken Tacos. Can you tell we love a taco around here?
Friday: By Friday, we’ll all by exhausted and it’ll be OUT for dinner.
What I’m Reminiscing About:
The fact that these two sweet little boys started KINDERGARTEN this week!! AAAAHHHH!!
What I’m Loving:
That I walked two happy kiddos into school on Monday and picked up two happy faces as well!
What We’ve Been Up To:
Some SLOW mornings. ha! We had some late nights and late mornings this summer, so getting back into a routine has been rough this week!
What I’m Dreading:
This is not our garage, but ours looks a little like this!! I’m dreading digging through the garage to find our fall decorations.
What I’m Working On:
Speaking of that, I have to get all my fall decorations out and spread some fall cheer in the new house.
What I’m Excited About:
Because all the streets of McKinney look like this, right? haha! I’m looking forward to COOLER weather!! Not sure when that will happen, but walks to the park or around the neighborhood are so much better with crisp fall air.
What I’m watching/reading:
I think Raising a Princess has been on this post for the last three months. But…I’m halfway through it and LOVING it! #finally I just started The Last Anniversary in carpool. Carpool is back, so I should find more time to read.
What I’m Listening To:
I’m getting caught up on Bachelor in Paradise while I type this post. Oh my goodness!!! SO many thoughts…
*It looked CRAZY hot this week in paradise. I noticed multiple times different people wiping their sweaty brows. #youknowtheydidn’tthinkaboutthatbeforesigningup
*I was SO excited about Nick showing up!!! I’m not a Joe fan.
*With Joe in mind, I think he’s having to take all the blame for the whole Sam/Joe thing. She should have to take some of the blame, right?
And…don’t forget to check out Sheaffer’s recaps. They are the BEST!!
What I’m Wearing:
My selfie skills are lacking!!! AAHHH!
Top: Couldn’t find anything super similar, but this is a cute floral option.
Necklace: Exact here.
Sandals: Exact here.
What I’m Doing This Weekend:
This is how it feels sometimes. hahahaha! #notreallythatbad This weekend is the LAST weekend before college football begins, so we’ll be enjoying every last minute as a family of five.
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:
I signed up for my first Rodan + Fields convention in September. I have my childcare all lined up and am excited about a weekend hearing from some amazing leaders. I’m also super stoked about girl time!
What Else is New:
SO HAPPY to report this girl was FOUND!! There was a small box hiding under the dining room table. I started unpacking it and found Ebby Lee’s American Girl doll inside! It was kind of like Christmas morning at our house all over again!
Favorite Back-to-School Tradition:
I started the most random back-to-school tradition. Someone suggested decorating the front door so when the children get home from school it’s a fun surprise. I did it last year and Ebby Lee thought it was fun. We hadn’t talked about it since then, but on the first day of school this year she said, “Mom, do you remember how you decorated the door?”. These two were stoked to see some streamers and balloons hanging from the front door.
Happy Wednesday, Friends!!
Fun post erika! As for BIP…I agree, sam should own up to her part. Have you watched After the Final Rose?? She's supposed to be on next Monday night. Interested to hear what she has to say…#liarliarpantsonfire
Ha we love tacos around here too so no judgement! Totally agree about BIP- the drama is 50/50 with Sam and Joe but they don't take responsibility for it so who knows with those too. and YAS to the slow mornings!
Linds @ Not A Mom
Thank you so much for making my recipes for your sweet family!! The biggest compliment a mama can give me is when they say they make my food for their family. Thank you so much! And listen…fall is almost here!!! I can feel it in my BONES!
I'd be fine with tacos at home M-F…and then out on Sat. and Sun. We could alternate between queso and guacamole each day. SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN! 🙂
I've been on a huge taco kick lately, I'd gladly follow your menu plan for the week!
Yay for finding the American girl doll !!!
Tacos 4 nights a week would suit me anytime!! Yumm! I am planning to hit up Hobby Lobby this weekend for some more fall decor….if they haven't already sold it all!!
I love a taco! We could have those multiple times a week in our house if I thought my husband would go for it! So happy you found Ebby Lee's doll…I bet she was so excited. Yay for Fall coming soon!

So glad that you guys found her doll! I bet she was so relieved!
Sounds like we're up to lots of the same things: back to school, looking for fall, & anticipating fun fall decorations! What a fun time of year! And 3 taco nights in a row? Sounds yummy!!
My Kindergartner started today, such a bittersweet time. I too will be at the R+ F Convention, hope to see you there!
I've never heard of Raising a Princess. Adding to my reading list now!
What a special picture of you and Shay! Love it!
I could seriously live on tacos…that would be bad…I have to keep reminding myself of that.
Looks like a fun week! Those tacos look amazing. Completely agree with you about fall! I need to hit the stores for some new decorations in my place. I can't wait for colorful leaves and sweaters and boots to come out!!
By the way, I nominated you for Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! It's a fun little question tag. More details here: http://faithandfashionblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/sisterhood-of-world-bloggers-award.html
