What’s Up Wednesday-3.30.22

Hey There! Happy Wednesday! Can you believe it’s the last Wednesday of the month? I’m linking up with Sheaffer and Shay for their What’s Up Wednesday link-up! Each month they share a long list of questions answering what’s up. 🙂 Let’s get right to it!

What We’re Eating This Week

Monday-Salmon, veggies, and a salad…super boring but salmon is a fish that every Slaughter enjoys.

Tuesday-Air fryer chicken with roasted potatoes and salad.

Wednesday-Chicken & Veggies Skillet-I found it on Pinterest and screenshot the recipe but didn’t include the sight so I can’t link. It’s diced chicken, onions, broccoli, zucchini, {and whatever veggies your family would like} all cooked in one skillet. It has a little brothy-type sauce and I’ll make rice to serve it over.

Thursday-Ebby Lee and I are headed out of town for a volleyball tournament so Tab is in control of dinner. I have a good feeling they’ll be eating out. 🙂

Friday-Tab has 4,293 things to do with the kids so again-I bet they grab something out for dinner.

What I’m Reminiscing About

This picture is kind of blurry, but I was scrolling through pictures the other day and found this one. Do you remember how Bowen was obsessed with Madeley’s cheeks? It was a whole thing! Look how teeny, tiny they were!

What I’m Loving

I’ve shared them before but I’m still LOVING these workout leggings from Amazon. I’m wearing a small in, “Ocean Teal”. And I’m also still loving my new tanner from Amazon. {Still terrible name}.

What We’ve Been Up To

We’re smack dab in the middle of the busy spring sports season. Nixon and Bowen are both playing tournament baseball and Ebby Lee has one more month of club volleyball before her season ends. It’s crazy, chaotic, and at times a bit difficult to work out how you’re getting your people to all the places but I so enjoy getting to watch my kids do things they enjoy. We were trying to plan dinner with friends recently and had to look way out in our calendars {because they’re sports moms too}.

What I’m Dreading

Packing up almost everything that’s on the bottom floor of our house. Home renovations are under way but right now they’re doing all the work upstairs. In a bit, we’ll switch and move upstairs while they work downstairs. I had some strong momentum and then took a break so next week will be pure chaos in the packing department.

What I’m Working On

Hahahahahaha! This made me LAUGH! But this is my biggest fear. If you’ve had a home renovation take out your laundry room for a bit how did you keep up with the laundry? Laundry is difficult to keep up with on a daily basis when I have a washer/dryer so I can’t decide if I should plan bi-weekly visits to the laundromat {there’s no way I could wait a whole week}? Look for laundry services {but I’m assuming this is crazy expensive}? Or is there something I’m missing? Seriously, being without a kitchen isn’t bothering me at the moment. I’m working on making a game plan for laundry.

What I’m Excited About

I’m so excited about spending solo time with Ebby Lee this weekend. She has a volleyball tournament in Orlando, Florida, and it’s girls only! My mom is actually going to fly from Missouri to meet us in Orlando and enjoy some girl time too!

What I’m Watching/Reading

I’m in a terrible book rut. I’m not reading a single thing, but I’m about to go load my Kindle with some new books for the trip. Any suggestions?

I keep trying to dive into Inventing Anna. Have you guys watched? I’m only on episode 3, but I’m just not sure yet. I’ll keep you posted.

What I’m Listening To

The Bestie Breakdown!! If you haven’t listened yet or have missed an episode you can see them all right here.

What I’m Wearing

This is a typical day look for me…{please know I just ordered more Tom & Sheri’s} tee, denim shorts, and sandals. Let’s discuss these shorts-I have “athletic legs” so they’re just skinny, these shorts are nice because even after washing they aren’t getting tight on my leg. I hate that! If you know what I’m talking about then, you get it too. They fit TTS. And these sandals were a random purchase from Walmart…super inexpensive but still cute. They feel like a house shoe but are more pulled together and were under $15.

What I’m Doing This Weekend

We just might find ourselves at the Most Magical Place on Earth at some point this weekend. 😉

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

It’s BIRTHDAY MONTH for Ebby Lee and Nixon and we have some fun planned to celebrate! Also, we have Easter, lots of sports, an exciting baby shower, swim lessons, and much more! Lots to look forward to in April!

Thanks for reading today!

Oh my goodness….I totally remember the post you did when you talked about Bowen not knowing about personal space when it came to Madeley’s cheeks. The sweetness between your crew and Shay’s is sooo adorable.

I’ve heard of people using an app called Sudshare for laundry – $1/lb. People pick it up and drop it off for you. Maybe something to look into??

Oh Shelly!! THANK YOU!! I’m gonna need to check into this! I keep thinking HOW will I keep uniforms clean without visiting the laundromat multiple times. This could be the answer! I appreciate you!

Agreed! I haven’t been able to get past episode 1, but I may try again 😉

I LOVE the tanner you recommended- do you use it on your face? It is my favorite so far, and my daughters and I have tried them all, it feels like. This seems so much better even than the super expensive ones they have used! No scent!

What type of home renovations are you doing? The whole house? Moving walls, etc?

      Erika Slaughter said:

Hi Sandy! We’re not doing the whole house, but we are moving walls, doing bathrooms, new kitchen, stairs, etc. A few rooms won’t have much done but most of the house is getting a little work. We’ve had these visions since we moved in almost 7 years ago…finally happening!
