This is one of those topics I’m always surprised you guys want to hear more about. And again-I know everyone has different opinions so if this isn’t your favorite, hopefully you’ll be more happy tomorrow. :). I get lots of “more daily life requests” every time I ask what you’d like to see more of so here are my Top Three Moments from the Weekend. 🙂
We’ve officially entered SPRING SPORTS SEASON! And while I went throughout Monday absolutely EXHAUSTED, I love every minute of those busy weekends {as I know all of you other sports’ moms do!}. We had ten games between the two boys’ teams, two birthday parties, a school dance, two grandparents in town visiting, and some of the COLDEST weather I’ve ever experienced while watching baseball. What a WEEKEND!!
#1 {In no particular order} Elementary Dance

The elementary school dance had a “Boots and Bling” dance on Friday and while most kids were dressed in cowboys boots and hats, we grabbed the boots and bling Britt had in her closest. Bowen had his first football game for his spring team but my parents attended that while Tab and I took Britt to the dance. This girly has some MOVES! She danced the entire ninety minutes. This event isn’t my favorite night…hot, extremely loud, dark gym…hahahaha! But I’m giving it a spot in the Top Three because Britty had a blast!
#2 A Baseball Championship Win

Nixon’s baseball team played in Arlington this weekend and battled it out to snag the First Place Championship title on Sunday!

Tab, my parents, and I all split our time between the two fields and I ended with this kid on Sunday. Check out that leprechaun ring. hahahaha!
#3 ANOTHER Baseball Championship Win!

Bowen’s team had a tough Saturday, but they managed to snag three REALLY tight wins on Sunday to grab those amazing {and absolutely ridiculous} medals! Every single game on Sunday was a “came from behind to get the win in the last inning”. Why did they feel the need to make EACH game that tight? I’m not really sure, but I skipped my March Move It Challenge that day for two reasons…1. Because I left our house at 6:15 a.m. and got home at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and 2. Because my heart was beating SO hard a couple times I decided my heart rate had to have felt like I was working out. I don’t really know if that’s how it works but I was WORN OUT by the end of the night.
The 8:00 game on Sunday morning was a NAIL BITER. Let me set the stage…we’ve were up most of the game but the other team ties it, the time officially runs out of the game, it’s our turn to bat with a runner at second and a runner at first with two outs and Bowen is up to bat. {Is your heart beating?! Because just typing that out made my heart beat REALLY fast again. haha!}.

He hits a DOUBLE, both runners score and the game is OVER! And I needed to breathe into a paper bag. hahaha!

I just happened to get it on video and I screenshot two pics for you…check out Tab {on the right} giving them the RUN symbol.

And here’s the winning run crossing the plate!

Later in the day {during the championship game} one of his buddies had the SAME situation and scored the winning run! Crazy, exciting, and fun day for Bowen’s team!
And those are my Top Three moments from the weekend. :).
Because I’m a peacemaker and worried about offending someone {hahahahha! it’s so true!}, I don’t want you to think we always have amazing moments. My kids have bad games, we lose tough ones, and honestly-sometimes they’re the kid at bat with two runners on and strike out losing the game. That’s life, right? I often treat this blog like many of my friends and family treat their personal Facebook accounts so I’m sharing the top three big things-just like I’d share if I were chatting with my aunt or neighbor.
Today’s supposed to be a high of 70 degrees here in North Texas and I’m certain that means…SPRING is on the way, friends!
Happy, Happy Tuesday! See you tomorrow!
XO

What a great weekend! Congrats to the boys and their teams!

What an awesome picture and Britt has great style? Wasn’t the Bestie Breakdown season 4 supposed to happen today?
Hi Amy! Yes, we’ve decided to tweak just a couple things so it’ll be a few more days! Promise we’ll let you know when it’s out!
How AWESOME for Bowen!! What a confidence builder and special moment for him and his team!
I love that pic of Britt headed to the dance. That girl has some serious style (and sass to match). I love it!!! And how fun for the boys!!!!
