Tuesday Talk-YouTube

What a WEEK!

The temperatures are feeling like full blown SUMMER here in North Texas, my kids have six days of school left, and things are beginning to open back up.  It’s beginning to feel a bit more “normal” and much more like a typical end of May week.

Once a month, Fancy Ashley and I join forces to bring you Tuesday Talk, where we chit-chat about anything and everything.  We always invite you to join us!

Just last month, we talked ALL ABOUT HAIR!

In March, the chit-chat was all about the Peloton.  I’d just had my bike delivered and was looking for all your helpful hints.

February had me bearing my heart about WHY SPORTS BRAS ARE MADE WITH REMOVEABLE PADS?  Who is eager to take those pads out?

And to kickoff the new year in January, we chatted all about 2020.  Little did we know…the quarantine life was headed our way.

Today, I wanna talk-

Are you guys subscribed to channels on YouTube?  Are you watching videos?

We don’t watch much YouTube in our house, but I’ve mentioned this channel before.  It’s so good, family friendly, and something your kiddos can watch without you worrying about what’s coming.

Dude Perfect-if you have kiddos and haven’t watched, you should!

Our house is BIG Dude Perfect fans!  Their new documentary just came out last week and we watched one evening.  It’s so good!  I MIGHT have cried twice!

That’s my big recommendation but for the first time I watched a Harmonize Beauty hair tutorial and gave it a shot.  Do you follow her channel?  She has THE CUTEST hair {if you’ve ever searched Pinterest for a new hair style, I bet you’ve seen her} and her videos make it look so easy!  Since I’ve had more time than normal lately, I decided to watch her Flat Brush Blow Dry Tutorial.  I typically use my Revlon blow dryer these days, but her tutorial was more about giving a volumizing, straight hair look and here are my results…

What do you think?
After blow drying, I didn’t put any product in or do anything else to it.

On our way to our church drive-in, it looks SO MUCH BETTER than if I blow dry it and do nothing!

One more shot after church and lunch before putting on my comfy clothes.

If you find some extra time, you should watch but her big takeaway is to part your hair on the opposite side and blow dry it that way so that when you’re finished and you make your part, you’ll have lots of volume.  I think it really helped my hair because the typical way I part my hair is the most damaged {or at least those pieces on top}.  With this method, those hairs are “on the bottom” as I’m blow drying.  Not sure if that makes any sense, but you should go watch her tutorial!

{FYI-my dress is 50% off right now.  I’m wearing a small but if you’re in between sizes, I’d size down.  It has pockets and can definitely be dressed up or down.}

************************
Now let’s chat.  What about YOU?  Do you watch YouTube?  Do you watch tutorials?  Hair?  Make-up?  Cleaning videos?  Do you have any recommendations?  I’d love to hear your YouTube thoughts and recommendations!  Please send them my way!

Thanks, friends!

Bucket List Family is another favorite that kid family friendly- they travel around the world full time and have 3 adorable children. They’re all so likable and it’s so fun to see all the adventures they go on! We also love Dude Perfect, as well as Binging with Babish (cooking all the stuff from your favorite tv shows) and of course Some Good News with John Krazinski!

Quarantine life definitely has me checking out YouTube more!
I have recently found a couple of different British people who have bought French chateau's and are redoing them to eventually use as bed and breakfasts. The 2 I like the best are Stephanie – her channel is " Chateau Diaries " and her friend Michael whose channel is "Doing It Ourselves".
Someday when we can travel again my husband says he will take me to France and we can visit them. I will be calling the Mix and Match Travel Agency to book my trip to France someday!!

I’m currently working my way through Kara and Nate….since you live travel I’d highly suggest them! They are super kid friendly too. I have used several of their VLOGS for my class with remote learning for “field trips”. They started 4 years ago with the goal to hit 100 countries and just hit it in January 2020. What I like is they rarely do fancy hotels, experience the yummy local food, and travel to the most amazing places! They are my new travel idols! Lol…. on that same note we also love Cruising the Cut. It’s a guy who lives on a narrow boat in England. We now want to take a narrow boat trip!

I LOVE YouTube. It’s mostly all I’ve watched the last several years. I’ve always loved “real life” shows rather than scripted so to me, it’s the best 🙂 My current favorite is the Bucket List Family. They travel the world for a few years straight. Start at the very beginning! Other family vloggers I enjoy watching are Cullen & Katie, Ellie & Jared, and Sam & Nia.
