Christmas Eve morning we stayed in our pajamas and decorated gingerbread houses. Ours always look EXACTLY like the box. ha! Totally kidding!
Ebby Lee made patterns and was so proud of her work. Nix ate most of his candy and threw a couple pieces on his train. hahaha!! Boys and girls are so different!!
In the mean time, my cousin sent us this picture. BAHAHAHAHA!!!! Did you guys have those sweatshirts?? My grandma made them for us all and I remember thinking it was the cutest shirt ever! Oh my goodness!! Good memories!!
We finally got dressed and went to my dad’s parent’s house to visit with them. But…I only a couple pictures!
Ebby Lee found this little doll to play with while she was there. My grandma had three boys and a lot of grandsons, so girl toys at her house at extra special! 🙂
Nixon got some of those Magformers and we were all excited about playing with them! haha! They are really cool.
Bowen got a Mickey toy and was set for the rest of the afternoon.
Then we met up with my mom’s side of the family at my aunt’s church for their Christmas Eve service. We do this every year and there’s always a part of the service where the pastor invites all the children to come up while he reads the Christmas story. This year ALL my kiddos went up to listen to the story and this was Bowen…
hahahahahaha!!! Bless that little girl’s heart! She kept looking at the pastor the entire time! I was so proud of Nix. He tried to get him to turn around and at one point Bowen was laying on top of Nixon…but Nix kept his cool. Whew!
We ended the night with a delicious meal at Aunt Rene’s. This is my sweet cousin, Lindsey. She lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, so we are rarely in Missouri at the same time. Miss this girl!!
Bowen with one of his favorite ladies. 🙂
Christmas morning Santa came to my parent’s house. (Remember the U-Haul?)
The kiddos’ reactions were so good this year!! They all seemed to “get” it. Everyone asked for something kind of big in size, so when they walked into the room they were super surprised!
This is reality folks…hahahaha!
One of the very best memories I have with my grandma is dancing with her in the kitchen. She’s sing, “Dance with Me, Henry” and would swing me all around. I had a moment this year when she was dancing with Bowen (in the living room…but just go with it. ha!). By the looks of it, he was having a moment too. hahaha!
We had a delicious lunch at my grandparents and then it was PRESENT time downstairs!! Lots of loud noises and lots of people and this…
a Bowen who got REALLY still and was barely moving. He crashed right after the picture. We finished the night with leftovers and a fun game! The PERFECT Christmas Day!
Boo got a BB gun, so Tab decided he’d help Nixon shoot.
Then Ebby Lee wanted to try and she insisted on the head phones. hahahaha! In case you don’t know, BB guns don’t make a sound. 🙂
My brother and his family came over so we did our Christmas with them and our parents on the 26th. The kiddos played SO well!! The adults were busy finishing our dinner and then we even played a game. Luckily, Miss Tattle (AKA Ebby Lee) came in to tell me that Nixon had something blue all over his hands. After much inspection, it was discovered the big boys had found some paint in the basement and painted a little on the concrete wall. (storage area in the basement) Then they decided to “sign” their names on the basement wall. (living room downstairs). I’ve never seen everyone scramble so quickly!!
The three crazies
In the midst of the chaos, this kid took the opportunity to sneak SEVERAL pieces of candy. #goodmoveBowen
The Damage…thankful for understanding grandparents!!
On Saturday, we made the drive back to Texas with one necessary stop on the way…CRACKER BARREL!!
Hope you all had a great Christmas as well!!
How super fun
Gotta love some Cracker Barrel! It is a family staple on all of our road trips too!
Memories you'll cherish. And the writing their names on the wall is just hilarious. Hopefully your grandparents never paint over their signatures!
Fun post!! Our train table was the best purchase we ever made, and we FINALLY had to trash it this year after 5 hard years of play!! Best purchase ever!! (now that ninja turtle thing, Oh.my.gosh. I donated that this year when the kids were gone hahahahaha!) Happy New Year!!!! 🙂
So many cute pics!!! But Bowen takes the cake 🙂
So glad I'm not the only one still blogging about Christmas- ha!!! Looks like Yall had a great one!
