The day before Britt’s surgery two weeks ago my mom and I decided to take her out for one BIG day of fun! We got all the other kids off to school and then headed straight to the State Fair of Texas to enjoy ourselves. 🙂

It was a bit warm but we didn’t let that stop us!

Due to crazy fall schedules, I hadn’t been to the fair in several years. I was so impressed by how “fall” and cute every exhibit and spot were. Pumpkins, hay bales, and mums were in abundance!

SO stinkin’ cute!

From now on, I’ll put this girl out of school for a day to enjoy the fair WHEN NO ONE IS THERE! It was SO EMPTY!

As soon as the rides opened, we were ready!

The Texas Star was a MUST this year!

We HAD to check out Big Tex!

This first ride was pretty intense. Let’s just say she became WAY less brave after riding this.

I thought this was hilarious because I’m pretty sure that’s what I looked like 3/4 of the time I was at the fair. ha!

Britt and I battled it out at this game and SHE WON!

I don’t know WHAT it is about the fair but years ago, Tab and I found this little catfish stand called, “Catfish Floyd’s”. Since then every year we visit, it’s our GO-TO food! The fish is okay but really I’m there for the tartar sauce. It’s like if a regular tartar sauce combined with Raising Cane’s sauce. That might sound disgusting but it’s a super peppery-deliciousness that I can’t say no to. 😉

We visited the week before the Red River Rivalry. I asked who she was picking and she went with the Texas Longhorns.

But then changed her mind to the Oklahoma Sooners in another location. She covered all her bases.

Before we could truly call it a day at the state fair, we HAD to see the pig races.

Nothing says, “State Fair”, like pig races, right?!

We made our way through the petting zoo before calling it a day.

At this point we were three tired, hot girls so we called it a day. It was the PERFECT FAIR DAY!!
Happy, Happy Monday, Friends! Thanks for reading today!
XO
