Show and Tell

Happy Tuesday!  Today is Show and Tell Day and I’m teaming up with Andrea to share the way to my heart. I really how no idea where to start with this.  Should I talk about how to win my heart now?  What Tab does that makes me feel loved?  Should I share my love language?  There were SO many different ways I could go, but ultimately…I decided to share how one guy stole my heart about 12 years ago.

I did a little research (by asking Tab his opinion-ha!) because my memory is really bad!  I tried to think back all those years ago and this is the list I came up with…

*As simple as this sounds, we have fun together.

*Faith-it was important to me that we shared the same faith.  I wanted someone who saw eye-to-eye with me on how we would one day raise our family.

*Trust-from day one (once it was official) there was this huge trust with Tab that I didn’t have with other dating relationships.

*A hard worker-we both wanted to have a family so finding someone who wanted to work hard to provide for that family was important.

*He made me feel special.  Let’s be honest, there are tons of fish in the sea, but Tab made me feel like I was the only one.

*He makes me laugh.

*Another “let’s be honest”-we were attracted to each other.  Physical attraction plays a huge part.  You’ve gotta notice the person, right?

*I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…Tab is the fun one in our relationship.  If you threw him in the middle of a room full of people, he’d leave with fifty new friends.  If you did the same to me, the outcome probably wouldn’t be the same.  He’s super personable and I love that.  Just for the record, I’m nice too-just WAY more quiet and reserved in that setting.

*Respect-I remember someone telling me in college that it’s important to watch the guy you’re dating around other people…how is he interacting with a waiter?  or with the cashier at Target?

*Tab is my biggest cheerleader…whether it’s something I’ve done for myself, our home, or even a good meal on the table-he’s cheering me on!

*You know the verse about iron sharpening iron?  I’d be super happy and comfortable living in my bubble, in my safe comfort zone for the rest of my life (that’s not what I’m called to do as a Christian).  That is not, Tab.  He pushes me to take risks and just be better.

Those are the super serious ways that my hunk of burnin’ love won my heart years ago.

Today, I’d say he reseals the deal every time he…

*Bathes a kid.

*Cleans up the kitchen.

*Takes me out for a grown-up only date.

*Or makes guacamole.

Have a great day, girls!

I am so glad to know I am not the only one who is quiet and reserved and would be just fine staying in my little bubble! Like you said though, that is not what we are called to do. My boyfriend sounds like Tab and brings me out of said bubble on the daily!

Girl! This makes me smile so big. I describe Mark the same was as the "fun" one in our marriage. Literally he can work a room with his hilarious self and I prefer to be on the sideline as the more quiet and reserved one. LOVE IT. Y'all are the cutest!!!! Such a wonderful couple to look up to! xx

Love what you said after the word Respect… So true! Watching how your future spouse ( and really anyone that you're dating) treats other members of the public is huge! It's a great way to see their true character and how the handle both good and bad situations.

Sounds to be like someone guided you to know exactly what to look for in a potential husband and sounds like you heeded their guidance. Good for you, so good to see young couples that know the true meaning of love. Blessings!
