I cannot believe I’m still talking vacation recaps from our trip a month ago! I tried to give some breaks in between just in case you’re not a fan of these posts. #peoplepleaser
If you’re new here my husband is a college football official and had the Rose Bowl game in Pasadena on New Year’s Day. We made it a family affair by turning it into a big family vacation to sunny California for a week.
Day Three-Santa Monica Pier was on the agenda.
Day Five-Was New Year’s Eve in California!
Day Six-ROSE BOWL!
After six days of fun, we were exhausted to put it mildly. Knowing how our game day would go down, I planned a super chill day afterwards to recoup. A late checkout was just what we needed and then we made our way to Laguna Beach.
I know I’ve said this during every single recap but the weather could not have been more perfect. We dined at The Cliffs Restaurant in Laguna for lunch.
The food was great and that VIEW!
It’s a good thing those glasses were taking up most of my face because this mama was tired!
After lunch we walked around the area just a bit before making our way to the BEACH!
Nixon magically produced a football he’d been carrying {because he always has one on him at all times} and they ran, threw the ball, chased each other, and enjoyed the day!
I can’t say we’ve ever worn Uggs at the beach before.
#firsttimeforeverything
These two could have played in the sand until it was dark outside.
And Ebby Lee would have been fine with that as well.
Nixon isn’t pictured because he’s still back there playing in the grass.
The waves would roll in and all the kids would yell, shriek, and jump up on the sand.
Needless to say our afternoon on the beach was glorious.
For nostalgia purposes…2020
2011…same fence, same beach, just a different angle.
See it now?
The California sunset was not disappointing on that drive over to Anaheim for the last leg of our trip. On this leg we stayed at the Anaheim Marriott.
The lobby/restaurant area had pool and shuffle board plus football games were playing so we hung out for the evening downstairs.
While these two did this on repeat.
And the next day was….DISNEYLAND! Can’t wait to share it all with you!

Love the comparison photos!
Love hearing all about y'all's trip!
We were also in Newport, CA when you were there and I have to agree. The weather was perfect!
Laguna is my favorite! I only live about 40 minutes from there, but I hardly ever make it out there. I need to plan a day trip asap 😊
What a fun trip!!! This day looked perfect!
I have LOVED your trip posts! Those beach pics today are GORGEOUS!
So fun…I love reading your trip recaps. We are headed back to Laguna for 10 days this summer, with a day trip to Disney and Universal Studios. The Cliffs restaurant has some pretty views…We are staying right up the street at The Pacific Edge Hotel…Laguna is one of our favorite laid back vacation spots. ☀️⛵️🏖 Thanks for sharing!!!
