A Story Without Words

It’s TUESDAY!  Man, this week didn’t start out exactly like I’d envisioned.  I’m gonna try to share my past few days with you just through pictures…

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!  Did you understand my story?  That is our LIFE right now!  Currently 4/6 Slaughters are on antibiotics for strep!  And one of those healthy ones got swabbed yesterday-just in case.  I’m thankful it’s just strep and after a day or two of taking it easy everyone seems to be much better.

How are YOU and YOUR people?  Is this happening where you are?

I’m off now to Lysol my entire house.

I'm in rural Iowa, my 3 y.o. had strep last week as well as throwing up, she's still taking Amoxicillin for a few more days. RSV, Influenza and Strep are coming in hot around here, we've been getting emails from the school nurse about washing hands ALL THE TIME, etc.

I took Julia in Sunday for a swab… luckily no strep though and I can't believe it.. every January or February one of them gets strep so I just went ahead when she said her throat and stomach hurt.. but so far we are good!!! Bless your heart but I do agree with Sheaffer antibiotics and it's knocked out!!! Praying for speedy recoveries at your house!!!!!!

Oh no…that's no fun but honestly out of all the things right now this diagnosis made me relieved a few weeks ago when we took my son in thinking it was the flu. Hope everybody feels better soon!

Our schools are inundated with flu, strep, pink eye and stomach bugs. So far I've only had 1 kid get strep… twice (2 days after stopping antibiotics) so don't let your guard down! It either never fully went away or came back again. Who knows, but it added an ear infection and we had to get stronger antibiotics that were nasty the 2nd time around.

That is awful, but probably better all at once then spread out over several days! Good luck!

My younger daughter was home with strep today. I was just thankful that it wasn’t the flu because that’s been making the rounds in our schools. Now if I can just keep the rest of the family from catching it. Hope your family is feeling better soon!

My 10 year old son got strep right before Christmas… the doctor offered us two options- a shot or antibiotics for 10 days. The shot was not simple (took about 30 seconds to get the liquid in) but he said within 24 hours he would be basically back to normal, so we took that option. I am not kidding you… a few hours later and he was cured! No more fever, no sore throat!!! I will say that he did have some discomfort with the shot area, but we still would do it again! It was Rocephin by the way!
In the meantime, I will be praying for all of you!

Not strep but a mystery virus with a fever that then triggers the asthma cough. Fun. This was our house last week.

Hope everyone is on the mend at your house.

Forgive me for giggling at your expense. These graphics were so cute!! We could sub in "flu" over here. Flu for everyone. And a big dose of Tamiflu…even for the 3 week old granddaughter. Hoping your family and mine are soon back to normal.
