Rose Bowl Trip-Part Eight

It’s Monday.  And I’m already counting down the days to the weekend.  Last week 4/6 of us had strep and over the weekend Britt bit the dust with the flu.  Basically, I need a hazmat suit to continue living in this house.  #whiteflag

On the bright side, she had the quickest dose of the flu I’ve heard of this winter and hasn’t had fever since Saturday afternoon.  WAHOO!  She’s back at speech and school already today!

What is BRIGHTER than a kid recovering quickly from the flu?  A Disneyland vacation recap post might be the ONLY thing!
I’m finally sharing our day in Disneyland!  YAY!

While I can tell you ALL THE THINGS about Walt Disney World, I hadn’t been to Disneyland since I was five-years-old.  We were practically rookies.  I’ll share what we did but if you’re a Disneyland professional, please add any tips!

I purchased tickets online as well as added the MaxPasses, which allowed us to grab a FastPass on my phone instead of having to head to each kiosk.  SO WORTH IT!  Plus it gave us access to all the Disneyland photographers.

We’d barely stepped foot inside the park and we spotted ARIEL!

Ariel was walking quickly like a woman on a mission but she couldn’t resist Britty.  It was super sweet of her to pause for a second.

We were waiting anxiously in line before the park even opened to be one of the first in.  As soon as the park opened, we made a beeline to Indiana Jones Adventure.  This is the look of the face of a kiddo who’s too short to ride…
We were kind of patient as we waited for the others to ride.

We took pictures and chit chatted with other kiddos too short to ride.  {My jacket.}

If you can’t tell, these four faces were PUMPED!  Ebby Lee had mentioned Disneyland when we were talking about California and I had told her I thought it’d just be too much money with everything else we were doing.  She was so sweet about it and never brought it up again.  The whole time I knew we were wrapping up Disneyland tickets to gift them at Christmas so when they opened that gift it was extra special.

It was fun to check out the rides we’ve done before at Walt Disney World like Pirates of the Caribbean as well as check out the attractions that are different.

Knowing we were headed to Disneyland over the Christmas break, I happened to record a Decorating Disney show and we all watched before our trip.  The part that really stood out was how the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland gets a merry makeover.

We were all pumped about this one after watching the show.

In the main room scene the crew behind the decorating adds their own crew names, loved ones, co-workers who’d left on the name tags of packages.  The gingerbread house is real and smells DIVINE!  And knowing all the hard work that goes into the transformation just made the ride all the more special.

At the end of the day this attractions was my #2 favorite!

My ride mates. 🙂

Big Thunder is always a favorite with my crew!

While the big kids and Tab were riding Splash Mountain {in January?!  They’re crazy!}, Britty and I spied Winnie the Pooh.

Their faces…oh Bowen.

One more walk by the Haunted Mansion.

The decorations were over the top and absolutely gorgeous!

Then we told the boys it was Britty’s turn…so to Alice in Wonderland we went.

Even the coffee tastes better in Disneyland.

This is what it looks like when you cram all six in a little car.

I look petrified.

What a MAGICAL day!

We split and took turns on Space Mountain.  Ebby Lee and I were up to ride first.

She was NERVOUS!

But apparently, I had a good time.

And Bowen napped.

My blog would not let me upload all the pictures from Disneyland in one post so tomorrow I’m finishing the day.  Remember Mix and Match Travel Agency helps plan Walt Disney World vacations every single day, so please reach out to us if you’d like assistance in planning your own magical vacation.  We also are working on international destinations as well as cruises.  Please e-mail us at mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com.

And if you have any vacation questions, please send them my way alittlebitofeverything83@yahoo.com.  I have a Q and A post scheduled later to answer those questions.

In case you’ve missed any of these Rose Bowl posts…
Day Six-ROSE BOWL!

See you tomorrow!

I am obsessed with Disneyland. I never got to go as a kid, because I grew up in Maine. Now that I live 30 minutes away, I HAD to get an annual pass. We have been at least 5x this year already and it never gets old. You took some great pictures. We love it so much.

I am with Britty…give me Alice in Wonderland all day long. My daughters love Disney World but one's husband much prefers Disneyland to Disney World. He doesn't do the Florida humidity well. Which do you prefer?
