Friday Favorites and European Vacation 2019-Part Two

Welcome Back, Friends!  And Happy Friday!  Can you even believe this is the LAST Friday in June?  EEK!  Time FLIES when you’re having fun so needless to say-the Slaughters practically missed June by living it up our first month of summer.

I’m joining my girls, Narci and Andrea, for Friday Favorites!  If you blogged, don’t forget to link up!  I typically share my favorites from the week, but am still on a vacation high so it’s Part Two of our European Vacation-this part is covering our first few days on the cruise ship, the Norwegian Star.

If you missed my post yesterday covering Venice, you can check it out here.  And Shay’s sharing Part Two of our trip today as well so be sure to check her post out!

We’d just boarded the Norwegian Star cruise ship on a seven night Greek Isles Cruise when I left off yesterday.  Due to some port issues in Venice, our first stop was switched on night one so we stopped in Bar, Montenegro on Day Two.
We headed off the ship to check out the town of Bar.

We walked around a bit, went into some stores and did a little sight seeing in Bar before we made our way back to the cruise ship for dinner.

He’s my favorite.

The next day we arrived in Corfu, Greece.  Let me tell you-this place was GORGEOUS!  We had a private tour guide for our stop in Corfu and he was incredibly knowledgeable.  He answered any and every question we threw his way.  Our first stop was the Achillion Palace, built in the late 1800’s.  It was stunning!

Having a BLAST in Corfu!

My very favorite part of the palace HAD to be the views from the backyard!
{Tank, shorts, and shoes}

The details inside the palace were pretty amazing as well.

I’m telling you…Corfu, Greece, YOU ARE PRETTY!

Our guide took us over to this spot where the views were incredible!

I’m sure you’re tired of me talking about the views.  I apologize.  I clearly was a fan.

Then we made our way to the Paleokastritsa Monastery.  Since I was wearing a tank and shorts, I had to cover myself.  The views from the monastery were just as gorgeous.

Two girls all wrapped up in shawls.

Then we had just enough time for a nice lunch before it was time to board the ship.  Our guide took us to this main town area…again, so pretty!  Our guide told us exactly where to eat.  If you’re headed to Corfu, go to Bougainvillea!  The atmosphere was great and the food was DELICIOUS!

We sat outside under a cute little tent.

While Shay and Andrew were serenaded.  🙂

A quick change into a romper and swimsuit-then it was POOL TIME!

My handsome date and I after dinner.

Shay mentioned this in her post yesterday, but one of the highlights on a cruise vacation is meeting other people.  It’s so funny to me how out of thousands of cruise guests we’d run into the same people over and over.  We made friends, even became part of one group’s karaoke skit in the finals, met others for drinks, and simply being greeted in the middle of the ocean by name is so nice.

The next day…we arrived in SANTORINI!!
We were a tad bit excited.  Can you tell?

The ship tendered us to this port area at the bottom of Santorini.  We took a cable car to the very tip top.

We had another private guide this day waiting for us at the top.

Once again, our guide was incredible!  She took us to the town of Oia and we all four fell in love!

It was the cutest little town with tons of shops nestled into every nook and cranny.

We had a nice dinner before making our way back to the ship.  On the way down to the port, the line for the cable car was super long so we were happy to make our way down the trail.  What an experience!  The trail was full of donkeys who were there to give people rides up and down the steep trail…so just imagine what we were dodging on our walk.  🙂  By the time we made it to the bottom my legs were SHAKING they were so tired but it was a FUN experience!

It’s hard to see but that white stone wall that zig zags back and forth was our walk down.

Headed back to the ship.

We ended the night on the pool deck at the White Hot Dance Party.

I said this in my post yesterday, but this cruise was such an incredible way to get to see a lot of different places without packing, unpacking, loading up, etc.  Our bags stayed put and we hopped off the ship to see and do it all in a different city each day.  I LOVED that!  The food in each city was absolutely incredible, as well as on the cruise ship!

And if you’re looking to book a trip like this for yourself, I know some people.  😉  Mix and Match Travel would LOVE to help you!  Shoot us an e-mail mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com and we’ll be happy to send you more information!

Thanks so much for reading today!  Have a GREAT weekend!

I agree cruises are amazing to see many sights quickly but don’t miss the opportunity to feel like a local and actually stay in a destination! Oia for example is totally different in the morning before cruise ship visitors disembark 🙂 and nothing beats waking up in your destination, walking to get a coffee, etc. Its magical!

Was it so hot or just regular hot? Do you know what I mean? Or are you used to the heat from living in Texas?

Ahhhh!! So many things!! First of all, is that a Lily P dress you wore to dinner? It's GORGEOUS!! I need. Second of all, I'll be spending the weekend watching Mamma Mia and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 because it's the closest I'll probably ever get to Greece.😂 That Inspired Chick
