Hey hey hey!
Bowen, Britt, and I arrived at my parents’ house in Missouri around 3:00 yesterday. The plan was for us to drive the 9ish hours but at the last minute I booked us flights into Memphis, rented a car, and we only had to drive about 3 hours. Anyway, we made it! And are already having fun with the fam! We picked tomatoes from the garden, drove the four-wheeler {is what we call it in Missouri but my Texas people call it an ATV}, and got right into the good country life.
Andrea and I are here with some Friday Favorites! As always, we’d love for you to join us!

First up, you guys were so sweet about our laundry room but you had a few questions. Lucky for you, I have answers. 🙂
*We got our brick floor at Floor & Decor. This is our exact flooring. I absolutely LOVE it in the laundry room. I use my Dyson, a broom and mop it just like my wood floors. It’s easy to keep clean but it’s not in a well trafficked spot. I do think it’d be a little trickier in a high-trafficked area because it’s a bit tougher to clean in the grout. I have to be more intentional. Know what I mean?
*This is our exact wallpaper. I wanted it to be fun and happy when I walked in that room. A FAVORITE space-mission accomplished. ;). haha!
*Our brass hanging rod was custom made by our trim guy. You can probably take a similar picture to someone local and they’ll be able to help!

We had our first freshman cheer mom event this week. We supplied lunch for the cheerleaders and well, the air conditioner was off and I was sweating but it was a FAVORITE part of my week.

Okay, a FAVORITE moment from my week. We got to my mom’s and she asked if we’d like a “Cosmic Brownie”.
Does that phrase mean anything to you?
To me, it meant…

I immediately thought of Little Debbie’s Cosmic Brownies and assumed she’d made a copycat version of this recipe. And let me just tell you-they were delicious! I’m always thinking of you guys and am looking out for FAVORITE things so later I asked my mom where she got this Cosmic Brownie recipe. {Again, totally expecting her to give me a fancy copycat recipe that I shared.}. Her response was, “Uh, it was a brownie mix I added mini chocolate chips too.” BAHAHAHAHAHA! So I’m here to report you should TOTALLY try this, give it a fancy name, and fool all your family!

My FAVORITE sneakers from the Anniversary Sale are still in stock in many sizes and a couple other colorways. I packed mine for Missouri and my mom doesn’t even know my big plans for a long walk in the country this morning. ;). Who wants to tell her?!
*************************
Yesterday when we drove by my grandparent’s town so we popped in to see them for a few minutes before driving on to my mom’s. As we chatted with my grandparents, my grandma mentioned that at church on Sunday, all the great-grandchildren are going to sing, “Jesus Loves Me” at their church.
And well my FAVORITE part of the conversation was Bowen Slaughter’s face as he heard Grandma say that.
His eyes got HUGE and he immediately looked at me like, “MOOOOMMMM!”.
We spent the remainder of the drive talking about having a good attitude, being a good sport, and being respectful. The verdict is still out on if his age group will get called to the front on Sunday morning. Wish Bowen some luck! ha!

The country fun we’re having is already a FAVORITE! Fireworks in the summer? Not much is better.

Now I’m off to soak in all the family time! Have a great weekend, friends!
XO

Have the best time with family!
Happy Friday!

Thank you!!
We call it a 4 wheeler in East Texas!!
Maybe it’s just the “city” people? hahaha! Is that me now? Are the suburbs considered, “city”? I guess so?!
Oh sweet Bowen! That is too funny!
Mission accomplished!
I can just imagine Bowen’s face. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds! 🙂
HE DID IT! ALL the praise hands for that! Now was I in my pew making a smile face at him when he looked my way? ABSOLUTELY! But he did it!
Have a lovely time with your family.
The wallpaper in your laundry room is fabulous! I love it and those brownies look amazing!
Thank you so much, Kim!
UM i can’t get past “the AC was off” – in Texas!? In July!?
In the cafeteria…the school only had the AC on where people were working. The gym was nice and cool for camp though!
Your story about your Mom’s “fancy” brownies totally made me laugh, so funny. Enjoy your stay in Missouri!
I really thought she’d gone all out!
Haha I pictured Bowen’s face and LOL! Have so much fun. Nothing better than visiting with family !
Well, he did it! HAHAHA! He probably won’t be asked to lead worship at their church any time soon but he did it. 😉
