Friday Favorites

Hey There!

I ALWAYS say that I wish there was an extra week in between Thanksgiving and Christmas so we have just a little more time to enjoy the magic. But guys I have that next week…one more week before Christmas and I’m really just READY for Christmas! ha! Are your people out of school today? My kids have another four days next week before they’re out. Womp! Womp! We’ll be doing all we can to make our nights magical.

In Friday fashion, I’m teaming up with my girl, Andrea, to share some FAVORITES from my week!

I often feel like I need to get things like gifts ordered, presents wrapped, etc. for Christmas all done while my kids are at school. Spoiler alert-it hit me this week that IT’S NOT NORMAL! I’ve been moving my work around to accommodate that schedule making things WAY harder on myself. I took one evening where we had nothing and got so much accomplished. My work from home self got confused BUT the fact that I’m caught up on wrapping right this second {still waiting on many things to arrive} is a FAVORITE! And if you need a gift wrapping tutorial, check out this post by my girl, Andrea. Her packages are stunning. I’m more of this kind of mom…

That’s not ACTUAL footage of one of my wrap jobs BUT it’s real close.

A couple FAVORITES about this pic…I ordered several Christmas shirts for Britt from this site. It’s probably too late to get them to you before Christmas this year but maybe they’ll have a big sale right after Christmas or just add a little note on your phone to check back in November 2024. They have some CUTE stuff! This “Holly Jolly” sweatshirt is one of my FAVORITES! And what she’s doing in this pic, but she paused when I grabbed my camera. I made hot chocolate with mini marshmallows earlier this week and my kids had “who can throw the most marshmallows in their mouth” competitions.

You guys!! I feel this in my SOUL! Why do kids these days not have that super awkward stage that I was stuck in for years?! It doesn’t seem fair! I will tell you a FAVORITE part of them not having that stage anymore….I told Ebby Lee I’d like some really great new make-up for Christmas. And I listed a few other things, but I feel really good about it! She and Tab always go shopping together, just the two of them for my Christmas gifts. I feel confident on Christmas morning I will open some make-up that will be magical. When I was fourteen, I had NO idea!

This past week at Bible Study we were discussing recipes and two of the moms mentioned their kids’ FAVORITE dinner is Poppyseed Chicken. I know what that is but it’s not one in my constant rotation. However, I made it just last night and it appears I need to add it to the regular line-up! If you need something easy, add this recipe to your line-up next week!

Receiving friends and families Christmas cards is always a FAVORITE! I must tell you-if you typically get a card from us, I haven’t removed you from our list. We couldn’t find a time to get family pics taken. I had to cancel and move our session multiple times so I finally gave up! I promise I’ll be back in the “card game” next year and will get them sent! I taped the ones we’ve received so far up on our cabinet and every kid that got home from school yesterday walked over to get a better look.

I’m looking forward to a fun festive tonight! We have a couple games tomorrow and then I have some mom taxi duties. Should be a fun weekend! Hope you have a great one!

XO

You want to feel good about yourself? I haven’t wrapped 1 gift. NOT EVEN 1. Clearly, I need to get with it.
