Friday Favorites

It’s FRIDAY!  Narci, Andrea, and I are sharing our Friday FAVORITES!  WAHOO!  Every Friday we invite you to join us.  Just grab our graphic, link-up, and add your blog to the bottom of the post.  Thank you in advance for joining us!

This one is for local mamas…Shay is hosting a little Matilda Jane gently worn clothing sale at Andrew’s office next week, starting Monday from 9-5 p.m. until everything is gone.  She offered it up to me so I bagged up a variety of the items my girls have outgrown.  I’m pretty sure the sizes will range from 12-18 months all the way to size 8.  You’re welcome to come and go during business hours all week.  Please bring cash if you’d like to shop to keep things super simple.  The address is 500 N. Custer Road, Suite 105, McKinney.  Happy Shopping, Friends!

Next Wednesday, August 8th, the local Kendra Scott is teaming up with the Manda Strong Foundation.  If you’re local, please head over and shop knowing 20% of the proceeds will be going to one of my very favorite non-profit organizations.  If you’re not local and would still like to contribute, just call the store during the party to order over the phone.  Thank you!

THANK YOU for all the birthday messages, comments, texts, and e-mails!  I really appreciated each and every one!  Thank you!  If you missed my birthday post yesterday, I let my kiddos do the blog posting in honor of my special day.  They shared THIRTY-FIVE things about me that you might not know.

Someone asked for more details about my arm-breaking during a cartwheel and a reader, Deena, commented that she’d done the same thing but she tried to cartwheel off her porch, which is EXACTLY what I did!  The summer I was turning five I was playing with a neighborhood friend.  We were on her porch and I decided I could totally handle doing a cartwheel off her porch-as in feet on the edge and landed on my arms.  Needless to say, it didn’t work.

I had the BEST birthday.  The kiddos slept super late so I got tons done yesterday morning.  Then we headed to the mall for a fun lunch with the Shull crew,  Ebby Lee and Kensington begged to do a little school shopping together {they were so stinking cute}, Ebby Lee made “brinner” {breakfast for dinner} for us along with brownies for our dessert…like I did NOT lift a finger, we ended the evening with Skip-Bo with my in-laws and Big Brother.  My kind of DAY!

I started a new series this week, Spotlight On…where I tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly about my experience with a product.  This week I started with MoroccanOil’s Root Boost.

This week I’ve been trying my best to get us all caught up from being out of town last week on the BEST ROAD TRIP EVER!  I shared all my thoughts and seriously want to encourage you mamas out there to grab some friends, a big ole van, and head out on an adventure.  Our framily will be talking about this trip for a long, long time!

Have I shared this with you before?  The Kodiak Cakes’ Power Waffles are some of our favorite breakfasts…we add a little peanut butter, Nutella, or jam and delish!  {Market Street, my favorite local grocery store, doesn’t carry them though…so if you’re local check Target or Tom Thumb.}  As I was walking up/down the aisles of Target this week, I found the Flapjack on the Go-version.  Has anyone tried these?  I’l keep you posted on my thoughts, but I grabbed three different flavors to give them a try.

I don’t want to spoil anything about last night’s Big Brother episode just in case you haven’t watched yet, BUT during Brett’s speech last night I’m certain my mouth was wide open and my hands were covering my eyes!  Oh my goodness!  Anyone else?

And this weekend is the end of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  I’m a huge fan of the top…perfect for fall, but don’t worry-the jeans went back.  🙂  You can see everything I ordered and my try-on session as well.  If you’ve been waiting to shop, NOW is the time because it’s almost over!  Happy Shopping, Friends!

Next week we’re talking ALL THINGS BACK TO SCHOOL!  So, if you’re not feeling like Kermit just yet, don’t worry-I have you covered.  Come back on Monday to check it all out!

Have a GREAT weekend, friends!
XO

Oh my, Brett's comment left me in shock too. Rachel, when she came out to talk to Julie, looked like she was about to pass out. I kind of felt like Julie was peeved that Rachel couldn't put together "great" responses at that given moment but she was just as shocked as the rest of us watching at home. Swaggy C showing up in Lees Summit, Haliegh getting close with Brett. Oy vey!! Last night was throwing me for loop after loop!!! I really have no idea who is going to win at this point!!!

I haven't really even started school shopping. But I figure, how hard could it be? I mean, just give him all the Under Armour and Adidas and he's good to go. 🙂

Thanks for the details on the cartwheel! Ouch! I broke 3 toes on an ottoman doing a cartwheel as a kid so apparently, cartwheels can be hazardous! :). Sounds like a great birthday! xoxo Erin @ Simple Purposeful Living

Flapjacks on the go…so yummy!! The cinnamon and maple (I am eating one right now!) tastes like coffee cake, the blueberry and maple tastes like a blueberry muffin, and the chocolate and peanut butter one is like eating a warm piece of chocolate cake (this one is a great evening "treat" with a scoop of Halo Top vanilla bean!!). So ya, I am a fan of these for sure!!

A couple of things… Brett. What the heck?! I am not a fan. He's crossed over into jerk category for me. Another thing. When you said you broke your arm doing a cartwheel in yesterday's post, I kept picturing you as an adult doing that! Haha! I don't know why!

Oh my gosh! Rachel's exit interview was classic!! Hot mess express. I mean "What's Wrong with Angela??" comment by Rachel so funny. I did NOT see that coming. Brett is my pick and I was SHOCKED he didn't go home. I don't know what is happening, but that speech! wow. I don't even know what to say. Expect the Unexpected.

Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday and I can not wait to go and read more about you and your amazing road trip! My sister and I have gone on mini overnight vacations together with our boys but that's the closest we've ever come to a road trip.
