Hey There, Tuesday!
Hope you had a great extra long weekend! The kiddos and I decluttered the upstairs like crazy people. I’m talking got rid of so much stuff! We went through EVERYTHING upstairs! Doesn’t that sound like fun? We also got to celebrate an adult only birthday party AND we spent almost all day yesterday pool side so it wasn’t a work only weekend.
Today, is a bittersweet day in my house. For the last ten years I’ve had a baby or two at home with me. There might be two days a week where they were gone to preschool but for the most part-they were with me at home.
That changes today….Britty starts preschool five days a week.
After seeing how much her two/three days last year helped her grow, learn, expand her vocabulary, and the list goes on and on…we decided after much deliberation five days a week would be the best choice for her.
We popped into her school on Friday to meet her teacher. She was fabulous and already knew Britt from being around the school last year.
I mentioned this “end of an era” thing to Tab and he might have thought I was being just a little dramatic. Yes, she does have shorter days than the big kids at school and of course there will be “skip” days BUT today it’s gonna FEEL like the end of an era from 9-2 when I’m home alone.
Maybe I should change the title of this post to “End of an Era-Kind of”?
XO
Oh no, it's the end of an era. My heart hurts today.
Such a sweet girl! Have a great first day, Britt! Xo
I think you and Shay should plan a fun day today and celebrate being awesome mom’s! Take care!
It is TOTALLY the end of an era. She's going to do great!!!
I am a preschool special ed teacher and the preschools I visit are typically 9 to 11:30, with lunch bunch maybe as an option until 12:30/1! Those hours would make my life much easier!! I have to cram a lot of my caseload into those 2 1/2 hours. Preschool is certainly helpful to kids who are a little behind. Most kids love preschool too ( my youngest had to be the exception and always wanted to be home and at age 8 things have not changed). I work part time and not having a kid at home was odd at first and then II got into a routine. The summer really hits you hard with everyone home!!
awe!!! Thinking of you today and your little one! I know she will have a great day!

I remember that feeling…and again once they were all in middle school…it's hard. I can promise you though, you will quickly adjust to some extra free mom time! Enjoy it!
