Christmas Week 2017

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year!  I missed you guys!

I hope you guys had the best Christmas break spending it with the ones you love.

Before we talk the new year, new goals, and all those kinds of things the blank slate of the calendar brings, I’m going to recap our Christmas week.

These four MADE our week so very special.  We kicked it off with a big celebration.  On Tuesday, the 19th, we grabbed the big kiddos out of school early to head to the court house.  {Sidenote-our school went until the end of the day on the 22nd so they had a much bigger break after Christmas.}

We completed the readoption process here in the U.S. for our Britty.

She’s been ours in our hearts for years, but now we have all the documentation imaginable to prove it.

Our lawyer was THE BEST and she made this the easiest thing ever for us.

What a way to kick off the last week before Christmas!

So much to be thankful for in this one little picture.

Reintroducing….Britt Bradford Slaughter.  πŸ™‚

On Thursday night, we bathed early, got in our pajamas, and drove around to check out the Christmas lights.  {I was forcing Nixon to smile.  He was too cool for the picture.}  We checked out a new-to-us-neighborhood and it was absolutely darling!

Thursday morning, Bowen had his Christmas program at preschool.

Can you spot our cool dude?  Thanks to my awesome neighbors who were in the front row for snagging some pictures!

Saturday, the 23rd, we made our way to East Texas for a day trip to visit Tab’s mom’s side of the family.  She surprised us all with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation t-shirts.  Every shirt had a different saying or quote from the movie.  Here we are in our Christmas Vacation finest.

Mine and Tab’s shirts were my favorites.  Tab’s family can pretty much quote the entire movie so these shirts were perfect for our Christmas celebration!

It was a Good Ole’ Fashioned Family Christmas!  πŸ˜‰  {See what I did there?!}

We had a lazy Christmas Eve morning complete with a big breakfast, Christmas movies, and lots of snuggling. We met M and G at the Christmas Eve service in the afternoon and then went to their house for presents and dinner.

{Sidenote-For years we went to Missouri to spend Christmas with my family.  We took Santa presents with us and every Christmas Eve I’d kiss Tab good night and go to bed at a decent time while he and my step-dad stayed up being elves.  Well, now I’m Tab’s little Christmas Eve side kick and I was EXHAUSTED!!  We were up until 1:00ish putting things together.  And my preferred bedtime is 9:45.  So there’s that.  I had an extra cup of Christmas coffee the next day.}

We had the BEST Christmas.  Can you tell from the one picture I took on December 25th?  While we were opening presents, my mom texted me asking what Britt thought about her presents.  Her big gift was a cute little kitchen and at the moment she was WAY more into Nixon’s flashlight so I sent this to my mom.  We were lazy, lazy all day and grilled steaks for dinner.  M and G came by to eat and see all the kiddos’ goodies.  We went to bed with big smiles on our faces, for sure.

Again, I’m so happy to be back with you this week!

Thanks to your input from my survey last month we have some FABULOUS topics to cover this year!  I’m looking forward to it!  Hope you are too!  See you back here tomorrow, ladies!  XO
