Happy, Happy Monday! We had a weekend FULL of baseball! We watched Bowen, we watched Nixon, and we watched the Texas Rangers. As I was driving home from Globe Life Field on Saturday night {we had to take two cars because we’d taken extra kids}, I just kept thinking about what a great day it had been! If you’d have told twenty-year-old Erika that one day you’ll spend HOURS at the ball field and then head straight to watch a Major League Baseball team play AND you’ll think it was a great day, I wouldn’t have believed you. ha! No matter what you did this weekend, I hope you had a little moment like that as well. 🙂
Do you guys remember when I started the year off so strong by reading lots of books in January?!
Me too! And well, that must be over. haha! We’ve hit our busy spring season and I can hardly find time to read! Before I share the books I read this month, let’s recap…
January Book Review-this was a HUGE month of books for me! If you haven’t read this review, go check it out! I read MANY great books!
February Book Review-only read a couple books but LOVED one!
I only read two books this month but they were both books I’d recommend…
The Favorites-is a love story about a pair of ice dancers who go from nothing {no famous last names, no wealthy families} to strive for the Olympics one day. An incident occurs at the Olympics and everything changes….I wish I could say more but I’ve attempted typing for about eight minutes and it gives too much away. You’re gonna have to trust me. 😉
This book is written similar to Daisy Jones and the Six where their friends share stories through an interview style writing. While I didn’t think it was AS good as Daisy Jones, I REALLY enjoyed it and would recommend this one! It’s a meaty, love story with a unique writing style that captured my attention and I found myself googling ice dancing terms so I could imagine EXACTLY what it would have looked like.
The Book of Lost Names-Since we were headed to Paris, I googled books about Paris to read and this was recommended. The Book of Lost Names is based on a true story from World War II.
Eva Abrams, a part-time retired librarian, begins this book with spotting an article in the New York Times featuring a special book from WWII. It’s this special book, the Book of Lost Names.
Then the book goes back to the past and we experience the story of Eva’s life through WWII from her father being taken from their home to her and her mother finding safety. Eva develops a special talent for forgery and helps hundreds of children escape to safety. Eva battles her own grief, finds love, and so much more in this amazing story.
I absolutely LOVED this one! It was such a heart felt story that had me speeding through to get to the end. If you’re a historical fiction fan, this is for you!

I know this was a SLOW month for books! But I’m so glad both of the books I read are books I’d recommend! Thanks for popping in today! I’ll see you back here on Wednesday for another Paris recap!
