I don’t think I’ve shared this gift idea in this little blog space before and I can’t believe I haven’t! This gift will cost absolutely nothing but digging down deep in the memory banks and it’ll give the recipient an entire year of joy.
I’ve gotta give all the Christmas gifting idea props to Marla for this one. She did this with her parents and then recommended it to us. My mom organized our entire extended family gifting my grandparents with a year of memories. And it was THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVER!
Everyone got involved from my grandparents’ daughters, their son-in-laws, grandchildren, grandchildren’s spouses, and great-grandchildren. We each were assigned a number and we hand wrote that many memories involving my grandparents. Some memories were really funny. Some were sappy. Others were a story only one person even remembered. We wrote these memories on small slips of paper, folded them all up, and placed them in a big basket. I’m telling you-THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEA EVER! For an entire year, every morning while drinking their coffee, my grandparents would pull out one memory to read for the day. The memory might have been from their oldest daughter, favorite grandchild {haha!}, or the youngest great-grandchild. Every day was different. And the fun walk down memory lane lasted ALL YEAR LONG!
The very best part about it to me was my grandma would send out the memory each morning on a group text with all the girls in the family and we’d all get to reminisce about what the memory was that day. Seriously, best gift ever!
I’m sharing today though because it gives your family, your co-workers, etc. plenty of time to come up with a year of memories to gift this to someone special this Christmas. I often get stumped on what to gift people who have everything, but this is something EVERYONE would enjoy! I hope this might help you this season! Trust me when I say the recipient will LOVE it!
