Friends, this weekend was one for the record books! We had all the things and while I try not to bog this space down with family or daily life talk often, it’s actually a requested topic when I ask for ideas. So, I thought I’d catch you up from our busy weekend.
Friday was FIELD DAY at our local elementary school. I decided to volunteer in the morning so I’d get to see this cutie.
And then again in the afternoon so I could see that handsome fifth grader. 😉
Whoever said fifth graders are too cool for Field Day have clearly never attended.
And he even {barely} snapped a quick pic with me. Can’t believe he’s headed to middle school soon!
Saturday was Britt’s LAST softball of the spring season. She had a BLAST with her friends!
That girly loves playing softball! And is already looking forward to the fall! Simultaneously, Bowen was playing baseball but I missed most of his games.
On Sunday after church, Nixon and I got to participate in our first service project. We recently joined a service organization that’s just for moms and sons. {Because how often are teen boys and moms getting to hang out? Plus we get to team up to help others in the community! Win-win!}. Yesterday we teamed up with The Miracle League to play football with some new buddies.
Nixon and his buddy had a GREAT time playing together!
As soon as our football game was over, Bowen’s team clinched their spot in the championship game of their baseball tournament so I raced over to watch. They came up short but played some GREAT baseball over the weekend!
Super proud of this kid! Check out our heights…he’s ALMOST as tall as I am! This is our last week of school and it holds a lot of lasts before the next school year. I was in the middle of telling Bowen a story just yesterday and he asked if I was crying. Odds are, yes! hahaha! I’m thankful for the job I have to stand alongside them, cheer them on, and help them learn from all the hard lessons. And when they play a sad song while showing baby pictures at the fifth grade celebration, will I cry? YES!
Hope you guys have a great kickoff to {maybe?} your last week of school too!
XO
What a busy weekend but it looks so fun!
Happy Monday!

It was a good one!
A sad song and a baby picture pretty much gets me every dang time, but I somehow managed to hold it together during the senior slide show at church yesterday. It must have been the Lord. 🙂 For the record, I let it all out while watching CeCe Wynans sing Goodness of God during the American Idol Finale last night. It was amazing.
GIRL, you and me both! That song came on the radio Thursday when I was driving home alone from baseball and I sobbed!! We’d be trouble in a pew together! ha!
I feel ya, mama! My oldest is graduating high school in a couple of weeks and I’ve been a weepy mess about all of his “lasts” since our “last first day of school picture” in July! LOL
AWWWW!!! Congrats, Jen!!
The highlight of my weekend was yesterday afternoon!! How fun to spend this extra time with our boys?! I’m sore though from pushing and running. I used muscles I didn’t know I had! Bahahaha!
BAHAHAHAHA!!! I FEEL YOU!
