A Weekend with Two

Friday morning Tab left for his game like always, but this weekend…wait for it…Nixon went with him!  Nixon was pumped!  A weekend ALONE with dad in a HOTEL room!!  haha!  A 4-year-old’s dream, right??

The plan was during Tab’s meetings Nixon would just hang out and play with his Kindle.  During the game, a family friend  and his son (who is in his twenties) were going to drive up to the game to watch and hang out with Nix.

Friday…Bowen and I were solo!  That will happen a LOT when Nixon heads to kindergarten, but for now…it’s super rare!

He asked for chicken and french fries for lunch.  I didn’t disappoint my date.  He’s saying, “Cheese”, with a mouth full of food!  Gross!

It was right at this second that he leaned over, pointed to the “W”, and said, “W”.  WHAT??

He pointed to that “W” in the middle of all those letters!  I had a proud mama moment and I instantly thought that he must know all his letters.  I asked him to find “a”, “b”, or “c”.  He didn’t have a clue!  The “W” must have been a fluke!!  hahaha!  How he knows that random letter??  I have NO clue!!  But…if you need help locating a “W”, Bowen is your man!

Friday night our babysitter came over to watch Bowen so Ebby Lee and I could have a date.  She chose a movie and we had the best time!

Saturday morning we met one of my college roomies, Erin, at the Perot Museum.  The Sports Museum has this area where you can choose to race a cheetah, dinosaur, or sports people.  Usually there’s a line, but we went in as soon as we got there and NO LINE!  Ebby Lee went several times. We later discovered the Christmas Parade was happening in Dallas at this exact moment.  Apparently everyone was there!  It was SO nice to practically have the place to ourselves!

Farmer Bowen showed me how he drops off the produce at the market.  ðŸ™‚

While we were at the museum, the boys were doing this.  Nixon had a BLAST!!!  It ended up being a chilly day and Nixon Slaughter didn’t complain once!  ha!  He’s already asking when he can go to another football game with “just dad”.  hahahaha!  And I’m asking, “When can you take BOTH the boys?”.  hahaha!!

Monday, Shay, Narci, and I met at Chick-Fil-A.  We just happened to be there when they had a snowman craft set up for the kiddos.  Our kiddos were the only ones there so they got lots of hands-on attention.  ðŸ™‚

Monday night I attended Kathryn’s Rodan and Fields’ Launch Party!!  She had it looking fabulous!!

Kathryn and I met through the blog (CRAZY, huH?).  She is the sweetest and I am so excited to get to partner with this girl!!  Her party was great and I had the best time getting to meet some of her friends and family.

Tomorrow….it’s another edition of “Owning It:  Claiming the Crazy”.  You don’t want to miss this one.  It had me laughing out loud while I was posting!  hahaha!!  It’s a good one!

Happy Wednesday!!

At the beginning of the post when you said "The plan was…." when talking about the boy's weekend, I was SO afraid that you were going to say that the other kid got sick, that family couldn't come, and Nixon had to sit by himself or something! Whew! Glad it worked out! 🙂

Was Tab at the OU/OSU game? DJ was there helping out the OU video staff! Glad you had lots of fun over the weekend and with your kiddos- and random aside, but we LOVE Raising Cane's! I was super sad when we moved from Louisiana to Indiana and they didn't have one. We just got 3 here in Tulsa and one of them is right down the road from our house. Yum!

You are so sweet to post about my launch party. Thank you again for ALL your help and for coming! I love that each of your kids spent one-on-one time with you and Tab, so special. P.S. I think Bowen and I would get along great…boy after my own heart of chicken and French fries!

My 2 year old knows the letter W as well! It's the only one he knows. I think he learned it on super why or Sesame Street… So funny!

He was at the OU game! Darn that it didn't work in our favor. My husband and I were married in that stadium :).
