Happy Monday, Friends!
You should grab a cup of coffee because I have a bit of picture overload for you. 🙂 This is a little recap of our past week…
On Tuesday, I dropped these two cuties off at preschool. Bowen is so happy Ashby’s back!
On Tuesday afternoon a box of candles arrived (that also contained a bunch of packing peanuts). We were all playing out front. I THOUGHT Bowen had gone inside for a drink. I stepped inside and found this…. OH MY GOODNESS!
Wednesday, this guy skipped a nap and had a play date with a friend. So at 5:00 this happened. Sigh. All you mamas know what I mean. Right?
Thursday after school, I asked Bowen what he painted and his response, “I painted, red, white, blue, and yellow.” haha! Noted.
Can you see all that plastic in the background? Ugh! (It’s now all gone and the floor looks great!) We had plastic up from Thursday until Saturday. I mean plastic blocking off the kitchen and if you decided to make your way through-more plastic blocking off every cabinet and even the refrigerator. A LOT of eating out over those 48 hours.
On Friday, we all wore green to support the Boyer family and raise awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Friday night Ebby Lee got to go down on the field with the dance team at a local high school. She went to the clinic a few weeks ago and the girls were all invited to come back on Homecoming night to join the team.
These girls were so excited! (and a bit nervous!)
My new, BFF, Shelly (I met her at dance the night before) came over to grab my phone and take some pictures on the field. THANK YOU, SHELLY!
The girls made a big line for the boys to run through. Ebby Lee’s face in this one CRACKS me up!
Then there work was done. 🙂 They marched back to their seats.
She had so much fun getting to hang with those big girls.
Saturday morning football games call for all the accessories. Right?
Our Cowboy’s team has the best cheerleaders. They make a fun sign each week for them to run through.
We had fun watching Nixon play. He wasn’t feeling the picture. ha!
Not so bad when M gets in the picture with you though!
Saturday evening Tab and I headed out to the ManeGait Gala. ManeGait is a therapeutic horsemanship equine center that has a variety of programs developed to help children and adults with special needs meet milestone they never thought possible. The gala is held every year and is ManeGait’s largest source of income.
The invitation said, “western elegance” as the dress and this crowd was darling! I wanted to just sit and stare at everyone! They all looked so cute!
These two girls are so sweet! I had so much fun hanging with them.
And this one is just as sweet too!
Hope you guys had a great weekend! We have another big week at our house. I’m gearing up. 🙂
Wow! Too many things to say! First, Ashby is way excited to be back at school with Bowen, the pic of Bowen sleeping with the dolls cracked me up, I love the drill team pics with Ebby Lee and you looked so pretty at that Gala! What a fun few days you've had!
Thank you!!! Ebby Lee was reading to him and her dolls and he passed out in the middle. Ha!
Oh my goodness! You looked beautiful at the Gala friend! I have been waiting to see pics of that!! What a fun weekend!
Thank you!!
You are soooo cute in that lace dress with the cowboy boots! PERFECT outfit for the occasion!
Thank you!! 😉
Gorgeous outfit! Can you share where the dress is from?
Thank you! I ordered it last year from Nordstrom. It was under $40 so I bought it thinking I'd wear it to church. I hadn't pulled it out yet so it was perfect for the event!
Where did you buy your gala dress? It is so beautiful!!! What a fun weekend!!
Thank you! I got it from Nordstrom last year.
Love your dress at the gala. You looked beautiful!

Napping with the dolls…I'm dying! Also you look gorgeous in the white dress and boots. Great choice!
Thanks, Megan! What are you doing reading blogs? You should be resting up for day three. Hahaha! Have fun today!
The Gala pix of you and hubs/friends were fabulous~gorgeous dress and hair! And the pix of your daughter and the dance/drill team brought tears to my eyes! Love those, I had such a great time on our HS dance team and I love they are reaching out to the younger girls! Thanks for sharing!
What a fun weekend!! Love the packing peanuts fun.
Love your dress! You definitely nailed the dress code!
you looked so GOOD at the gala!!! 🙂
As a country concert junkie here, must get details on your dress! Girl, you ROCKED that dress! And I'm not so sure it would look as cute on me, but so cute on you!!! xo
That picture with the packing peanuts cracks me up!
I agree you look gorgeous!!!!! Info on those cute boots?!
Oh my goodness all those packing peanuts!! I remember when I had that really flimsy styrofoam (that broke apart easily into little balls) My son got into that in our main closet that had all of our clothes in it and it stuck to everything. It was a huge mess and looked like snow. Kids are great aren't they? lol http://www.toddlersarenoteasy.blogspot.com
Erika you were a complete STUNNER in that white dress! Oh my word, I want one now!
I love Bowen sleeping with all of the baby dolls!!!! And your dress is gorgeous!
Eby Lee looks like she is just in her element with the dance team. YOU look absolutely stunning for the Gala ( I bet Tab wasn't missing his ref friends one bit!;) and I have to say that I admire your attitude about the packing peanuts, that would be a nightmare for me! Happy Monday, Erica!
Let's talk about your dress! I LOVE it!
Love your blog and I've been reading for so long. Crazy question – the Gala you went to this weekend, is the floor (under the tables, etc.) just the riding arena packed down? then a dance floor brought in? Did the dust stir up at all? I'm chairing a gala in the spring and we are having it in a similar location and just wondering how that floor worked out.
Also – thank you so much for sharing the hair curling video not too long!!
Yes!!! I kept hearing the tables would all be set up on the arena and kept wondering how that would work. It was perfect! They packed the floor down so it wasn't loose at all. Then that dance floor area was brought in. I never saw any dust. It was almost as smooth as a concrete floor. Good luck on yours!!
Love your western elegance outfit! Adorable friend!
Playing catch up on my reading!!! Loved loved loved your dress!!!!
