2019 Year-In-Review

Every year I share a year-in-review, which is just a fun little recap of our year.  It’s a great way for new readers to catch up with The Slaughters and veterans to see a little recap.  So, without further ado-our 2019…

January:
We kicked off the new year at Big Cedar Lodge right outside of Branson, Missouri.  Just a few days of family time was exactly what we needed.

We also enjoyed the low key days and nights that January brings.  Lots of family movie nights and time together are always my favorites.

February:
February brought a fancy Valentine’s Dance.

And early Saturday morning basketball games for Bowen.

March:
In March, we made our way to Beaver Creek, Colorado, for a Spring Break in the mountains.  My parents flew in to meet us as well.

Later that month, I tagged along on a work trip with Tab to the beautiful, sunny San Diego.

April:
In April, I snuck away solo to Missouri to celebrate my grandpa’s 90th birthday.  It was a surprise and he was absolutely shocked.  Any family who could make it happened to be sitting in his pew {and a few extras} for church on Sunday.  Sweet, sweet memories!

Ebby Lee asked for a little tween getaway with her bestie, Kensington, so I made it happen…blow outs, a little pottery painting, a fancy dinner, and a fun night at a local hotel.

At the end of the month, Shay and I surprised Bowen and Ashby with a trip to Walt Disney World!

May
In May, these four spoiled me on Mother’s Day.

Memorial Day weekend had us sporting as much red + white + blue as we possibly could.  From neighborhood parties to local concerts and fireworks we were busy all weekend.

June
School was OUT for summer!  And these three faces were all pretty happy about it.

Then Tab and I headed out with the Shulls on a fabulous summer vacation to Venice, boarded a cruise ship for Greece, and then Rome.

July

Shay and I took these eight crazy kiddos on our Second Annual Road Trip.

August
We kicked off August with dinner out to celebrate my birthday.

Our favorite YouTubers, Dude Perfect, were in town and we all were pumped to see them.

School started…first grader, fifth grader, and a fourth grader.

I headed to Walt Disney World to check out all the fall goodness happening.

September

The kiddos and I ended the month at the local Oktoberfest in downtown McKinney.  Don’t our five sweaty faces scream, “FUN”??

October
One of my favorite days of the entire year is when we head to the State Fair of Texas.  This year did not disappoint.  Rides, fried food, and all the cheesy shows…I’m there for it ALL!

All the fall sports were in full swing, but we managed to pause all of that for some Halloween fun!

November
I took a little girl’s trip to Boston for a few days of mama time.

Britty turned FOUR and we decided to make a little trip to the American Girl Store to celebrate!

And we squeezed in a trip to Missouri for Thanksgiving to see our Missouri family.

Bowen turned SEVEN and we invited the calmest kids around town.  Can you tell?
#justkidding

Thanksgiving reminded us we have so very much to be thankful for.

December
We’ve been squeezing in as much holiday cheer as we possibly can.

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Thank you for coming here everyday and for being a part of this little place we’ve created.  I’m truly thankful for each and everyone of you and hope you have the very merriest Christmas.

I’m signing off until January 6th, but I will be sharing all of our adventures over on my Instagram {slaughteren}.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  See you in 2020!
XO

Such a great look back, Venice sounds like a dream vacation for sure! I lived in Europe for the first 21 years of my life but sadly never made it there!
