I’m a sucker for a “Day in the Life” post, any type of beauty regimen posts, home tours, and
(are you seeing a trend-I’m apparently REALLY nosey-FACT #1…hahaha!)
those random lists of facts all over Facebook. If I don’t watch it, I can waste a good fifteen minutes searching through the states to see just which states my friend, Cindy’s, Aunt Kathy has visited.

So my list today is super random…{prepare yourself}
#1 I’m solo during football season.
My husband, Tab, has a real 9-5 job Monday-Friday but come Saturdays during football season you can find him on a football field. He officiates college football for the Big 12 conference. {I shared all the details about this side gig here.} Lots of you comment and say you saw him on t.v., which is so fun to read! The kiddos and I try our best to go to as many games as we can fit in our fall calendar.
#2 I hate laundry.
Yes, I’ve totally contemplated the scenario above. It’d help my closet organization as well. 🙂 I’ve tried different methods…one big laundry day, a little a day, I speak out loud Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” It’s just not gonna be my thing. That’s okay. We all have a thing. Right?
#3 I could live off chips and dip.
If this were the case, I’d probably live a very sedentary life. Don’t invite me to go for a walk or anything, but come meal times I’d be one happy girl. Chips and salsa, chips and queso, chips and guacamole…you name it, I love it all! #dontweall
#4 I wear a clean pair of pajamas every night.
Everyone in my family does actually which probably takes us back to #2. hahaha!
I’m not sure why or how I started this but it has happened, it has stuck, and now we have almost a load of laundry everyday FULL of pajamas BUT our fresh, clean pajamas feel delightful every night.
#5 I also like to take a bath and read a couple chapters of my book every night.
I feel a bit guilty if I’m just sitting and reading a book on the couch. I should do something productive if I’m at home. Trust me, I don’t always do that but I at least FEEL like I should. 😉 But if I’m taking a bath, then I don’t feel guilty at all. I’ve been known to hide away in there for far too long. Tab’s sent in reinforcements letting me know mom’s quiet time is over. hahaha! {The book above I’m reading now.}
#6 The second I start a new book I completely forget everything about the book I just read.
This is a problem, for sure. The second I start a new book-I can’t even remember the characters’ names in the book I just finished, let alone tell you the plot or how it ends! #itsaproblem
#7 I’m not only a stay-at-home mom but I also blog and plan vacations for Mix and Match Travel.
You can find me here 3-4 days a week sharing, “A Little Bit of Everything”. I also am a travel agent for Mix and Match Travel. Right now we’re sending clients to Disney World, a variety of cruises, or Mexico. Please e-mail us if you’d like help planning your next vacation at mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com.
#8 I feel like Super Mom when I meal plan and grocery pick up.
I’m not sure if you have Wal-Mart grocery pick up, Kroger online, or a local grocery store who does this in your area but TRUST ME you need to try it. Now, meal planning is SO easy! I choose some recipes for the week, order online as I go, and BOOM-pick up the groceries with one quick phone call. It’s so easy and pretty much anything beats taking four kids to the store. So there’s that too. After meal planning and ordering groceries online, I feel so good about my skills and then one kid spills the milk, another kiddo dumps their snack, and another kid reminds me I forgot to wash his baseball jersey. The moment passes quickly, but for just a second…I feel like Super Mom.
#9 I love Dateline.
I don’t even know how to describe this other than my perfect night…curling up on the couch with Tab watching Dateline! Is it just me or could Keith Morrison read a book of poems and it would scare me a bit? His voice gets me every time.
#10 My hometown has a population of 122 people.
I’m from a teeny, tiny town in southeast Missouri, Zalma. I graduated with twelve people in my class and the town has a population of one hundred twenty-two people. There are probably one hundred twenty-two people living on my street now. But there’s definitely something to be said about those wide, open spaces. #cityandcountrygirl
