What’s Up Wednesday-9.29.21

I’m linking up today with Sheaffer and Shay for What’s Up Wednesday.

What We’re Eating This Week…

We’ve got some goodies in the line-up this week.

Monday-We had a sheet pan supper with turkey sausage, sweet potatoes, broccoli, red onions and tomatoes.
Tuesday-Pulled Pork Rice Bowls are a favorite around my house because I set out all the toppings and we make our own.  BUT last night the pork roast was huge and wasn’t quite finished when we got home from the 6:30 football game.  We loaded up in the car at 8:30, attempted Chick-fil-A but still no seating inside, and settled on our local grocery store’s food court.
Wednesday-Trying a new slow cooker recipe…Chicken Chile Con Carne Tostada Stacks.
Thursday-Cincinnati Chili is on the menu tomorrow night.
Friday-OUT!

What I’m Reminiscing About…
September always gets me in spirit for a visit to the fair!  Five years ago we were preparing to watch Tab officiate the Texas/OU game.  Our seats happened to be two rows in front of the LOUDEST CHEERER I’VE EVER EXPERIENCED AT A COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME!  I immediately go back to the guy screaming so loud when I see this picture!

We had the best day…from the football game to the best food to the rides..so much fun!

What I’m Loving…
I’ve heard over and over again from friends who have kids just a little older than mine that these are the very best days and I get it.  I’m truly trying my best to soak in each and every moment.  I’m loving getting to watch them participate in activities and sports they truly love.

Loving it.

I’m loving watching them each handle daily life and let me tell you-they all handle it so differently.

Loving getting to spend my days with these gifts.

What We’ve Been Up To…
Well, 1/6 of us has been in many of your living rooms.  🙂

We’ve been enjoying the tiny breaks in the Texas weather by pretending it’s a super chilly fall night and curling up for a movie inside.

Our town hosted Oktoberfest this past weekend with a fun festival full of food, entertainment, rides, and games.  These two were so excited!

Some of the cutest decor was set up around our town square.

We met Shay and her kids for an early dinner right after school on Friday and then were off to enjoy the festival.

The artist whipped this up in no time.  I was talking and I seriously looked up to see this!  The purple lips were my favorite part!

Britt typically has no fear and she started out strong on this pirate ship but as it rose things went south quickly.

The carousel was much more her speed.

Meanwhile, these big kids were living their best lives.

We ran into lots of friends, rode more rides, and enjoyed the amazing weather Oktoberfest brought with it.

What I’m Dreading…
Any hot days…please take a break from the heat until March 15th, Texas.

What I’m Working On…
Making sure I don’t order any more Crumbl cookies for a while.  On a whim recently, I ordered Crumbl cookies for us and my goodness!  They were so hard to resist.  I found myself walking by the kitchen and thinking I needed a bite.

I know the flavors are always changing but this little guy was the real culprit…the blueberry cheesecake.  TRY IT!  It had a graham cracker cookie with cream cheese and blueberries on top…yum!

What I’m Excited About…
Upcoming episodes of The Bestie Breakdown!  We just recently shared our first book club podcast {you can listen here}, but we have some really great new podcasts headed your way in the month of October!

What I’m Watching/Reading…
BIG BROTHER!!  The finale is TONIGHT!  I’ll be watching!  Or at least I’ll try to watch when we get home from sports.

I just downloaded our newest book club book, The Girls in the Stilt House.

What I’m Listening To…
It’s Spookley the Square Pumpkin season for Britt.  She’s been watching on repeat.  I’m pretty sure the rest of us could quote the entire show at this point.

What I’m Wearing…

I highlighted some of my fall-but-still-feels-like-summer outfits lately in this post.

What I’m Doing This Weekend…
Tab has his first off weekend of the season so we’ll be getting to hang out-all SIX of us!  We have a birthday party Friday night, three football games on Saturday, and special plans for our Sunday.

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month…

All the October festivities!

Thanks for reading today!  See you tomorrow!
XO
