What’s Up Wednesday

I’m joining MelShay, and Sheaffer for their What’s Up Wednesday link-up!

What we’re eating this week:

This week our menu…
Monday:  Mongolian Beef with Brown Rice (shockingly, the kiddos ate this pretty well.  They dipped their meat in Ketchup, but I’ll take it)
Tuesday:  I made a chicken, green beans, and potatoes slow cooker meal that Tab and kiddos enjoy because I had GIRL’S NIGHT!
Wednesday:  Tab’s getting in late, so I’m taking the night off from cooking.  🙂
Thursday:  Salmon…my family all loves salmon so we try to have it as often as possible.
Friday:  Something will be grilled in the backyard.

What I’m Reminiscing About:

Summer days spent at the pool.

What I’m Loving:

THIS WEATHER!!!  I said this last month too, but our weather has been SO great lately!  (As I’m typing this, the weather forecast has storms so let’s hope that doesn’t happen.)  But the weather this weekend was amazing!  Perfect for being outside.

What We’ve Been Up To:
Lots of nights spent outside.  We’re soaking it up here in Texas.  In the summer, if you’re outside you want to be in some body of water because it’s so hot, so we’re enjoying every last bit of these nice nights.

What I’m Dreading:

I’m not dreading a thing!

What I’m Working On:

I’ve been working on ironing out ALL the details for our summer vacation.  These four people and I are gonna have a week of making some awesome memories.

What I’m Excited About:

NO MORE LUNCHES!!!

I’m sure you’ve read this post before, but Jen Hatmaker nailed it when she describes how we’re all feeling by the end of the year.

What I’m watching/reading:

Amazon suggested I read this one, so I ordered it.  I’m about halfway through and will let you know my thoughts at the end.  🙂

Oh my goodness!  Who’s watching the Real Housewives of Dallas?  And if so, raise your hand if you’re as confused as I am?  The Real Housewives of Dallas is very different than my usual favorites-New York, Beverly Hills, New Jersey…what is happening on that show?  If you’re watching, please share your thoughts!

What I’m Listening To:
We’re getting ready for summer over here by listening to The Beach Boys on Pandora.

What I’m Wearing:

I’m fairly certain my white legs blinded people yesterday, but it was HOT!

Shorts:  Exact here.
Sandals:  Exact here.
Necklace:  Exact here.

What I’m Doing This Weekend:

We’ll be grilling out with friends, enjoying the great weather, eating good food and this…

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Lots of things…the pool, legs that don’t resemble the color of white printer paper, dinner outside on the patio, the pool, Memorial Day weekend, watching Nixon’s baseball games, the pool.  🙂

My Favorite Mother’s Day Gift to Give/Receive:
On my first Mother’s Day, Tab went all out and got me a ring with Ebby Lee’s birthstone.  I was not expecting it at all, which made the present even better.

Happy Wednesday, Ladies!!  XOXO

I am die hard Real Housewives of Everywhere! RHWD is so confusing! The makeup seems really bad, the who season is focused on just charity work (which is good! But is seems like there should be something else going on), the filming seems to be a lower quality. The short run series that had Courtney Kerr in it on Bravo….Single in Dallas…was so much better.

I agree!! I watched the entire first episode and was so confused. It's very different than any other "Real Housewives".

Oh my, YES to watching Dallas! I have been wondering if you recognize places they film/neighborhoods?! Definitely unlike any other season. Stephanie and Brandi crack me up- they for sure like to have fun!

I've recognized some places but I'm definitely not a part of their "social circle" they're always talking about. Haha! We live about 30 minutes north of town so I very rarely get outside a little five mile radius. 🙂

Also, I am watching the RHWD and you are right a little odd to say the least. Are these people friends? Most of the shows all the ladies for the most part are really close but these ladies seemed to be picked at random in hopes they all get along. Btw they do not give charity events a good name. I really hope it gets better…surely it can't get worse.

I think the new Real Housewives of Dallaa seems like all the girls are immature and selfish which makes it hard to find a "character" you like or relate to. I think even in Beverly Hills, you can relate to a little bit of one of those ladies stories, but not this series!

I feel like this cast is trying TOO hard. Like they all want to make a statement so they can stay on the show or something. I kept thinking "this would be so much better with Shay, Erika, Andrea and their Texas friends". Let's suggest that to Andy Cohen!

I'm watching Real Housewives of Dallas and am confused too! Okay, the lady that was a carnie kid (I forget her name!)…wow let's talk about her! How did she manage to get into the "charity" world and on the show?! Since you're in Dallas, I have to ask is the charity world a big social status thing like they make it look? Sad it's more about making a statement than helping the cause! You should do a post on it, I'm dying to know your thoughts…I could go on and on and on!

Quality seems poor along with the selection. I think the producers are making fun of Dallas and the housewives are making us look bad!! I don't think it will last past a couple of seasons–plus I'm guessing the whole city of Plano has boycotted!! lol

So I'm glad you brought up RHOD! I think what is off is the casting. It feels like a stretch in some aspects, especially when they try to portray the woman has connected to "high society." In other cities like New York and Beverly Hills, the women seem much more connected. I must admit that I keep watching it, but I'm not sure quite how I feel about it yet!

I think someone else in the comments section asked this, but is the charity scene as big as they portray it?

Real Housewives of Dallas is so strange! I just keep wondering how many more episodes are going to revolve around Jesus juice and their charity parties. Charity is a good thing but they make it seem so odd. I'm not sure what qualifies LeeAnne as a housewife and I think she's a bit mean. I'm totally down for a recast! -xx Leah || Chasing Texas

I heard somewhere that apparently when the housewives were filming they did not know which network the show was going to, they were just trying to pitch it to someone! And then last minute bravo picked it up. Totally strange!
