Hey Hey!
Happy Monday!
This is one of the only weeks this summer we have NOTHING on the schedule…no camps, no tournaments, no holidays, no out of town things. We’re at home all week {minus a few night games} and I’m actually really excited about it. This mama is ready for some downtime! We have fun plans to hit up the pool with friends and I’m sure we’ll stay up way too late every night.
For today, I have a fun little recap for you. Marla {my mother-in-law} invited us to join her and some out of town friends on the We Ate Well Food Tour in Downtown McKinney this past weekend.
Ebby Lee and I showered AND did our hair for this. haha! Anyone else living with crazy hair after days at the pool? Am I the only one?
Our meeting spot for the tour was Patina Green.
If you’ve never heard of Patina Green, you’re missing out! 🙂 They are a farm-to-table restaurant and market that serves lunch daily…the most delicious sandwiches to be exact. They also have a variety of special dinner events. You can see them all online. I’ve heard their Market Dinners are a great time, but Tab and I haven’t attended one yet.
Patina Green had the cutest little table waiting for us.
With all of my goodies.
We were served hickory smoked ham, smoked cheddar, and jalapeno peach jelly on the jalapeno cheddar loaf. DELICIOUS! This sandwich was voted BEST IN TEXAS by Food Network.

I’m also a big fan of the roasted cauliflower sandwich. It might sound weird, but it’s a very close second to the ham and cheese pictured above.
The tour began at 11:30 a.m. and the guide at each stop gave us a set time to be finished by so we kept the tour right on schedule.
Just a typical Saturday in McKinney…
Harvest is usually another stop on the tour, but this particular day they had a private event inside the restaurant. So we skipped this stop.
You can see the Halloween dinner I hosted at Harvest here if you missed it.
Second stop…Cadillac Pizza!
Smokey Pie…my very favorite pizza in all of McKinney. 🙂
Stop #3 was a stop at Ettiene Market, which is a gourmet kitchen store.
That served us the BEST maple syrup. It was so good in fact that Ebby Lee declared this stop her favorite.
Then we headed over to Landon Winery.
We were served salami, wine, and a variety of cheeses.
We were also told a ghost story about the well located inside the winery. One of us actually got scared…any guesses?
Rye Mckinney was our next stop serving some delicious caramel ice cream.
This boutique restaurant is just darling on the inside.
Then we made our way over to Fair and Square Imports, where we tasted a few varieties of fair trade chocolate and did a little shopping.
Group Picture Time!
And we ended our fun time with me glistening {from that outside walk} in Filter(ed) for a delicious cup of iced coffee. We had such a great little afternoon enjoying our square.
This is HANDS-DOWN something I’d recommend for…
*Out of town visitors
*Guests you’re hosting {I’d definitely take family/friends visiting}
*New McKinney citizens who just moved to the area
Hope you guys learned a little something today and if you’re passing through McKinney for the first time, you should DEFINITELY schedule a tour for yourself!
Happy Monday!
XO
