Hey Hey Hey! Guys, it’s Snow Day #2 here in North Texas and we don’t even know what to do with ourselves. It’s unbelievable how quickly we went from six structured people with schedules, bedtimes, early wake-ups, and more to us not even knowing what day of the week it is. Seriously, how’d it happen so quickly?
We’ve been soaking up all the chill time we can because we know as soon as mid-February hits our schedule gets crazy. We’ve watched Teen Wolf {way different than how I remember it-way more rated, “R”}, the new Nate Bargatze special {where we realized how differently we all watch a comedy show…i apparently laugh after every line the comedian says even if it’s funny or not, which happened to annoy ME and everyone else but i legit couldn’t quit doing it}, and we got caught up on some regular shows PLUS laundry. 🙂
If you’re snowed or iced in today, you might be looking for a good thriller/mystery book to read. I’ve got you covered with a big list. I shared these on Instagram Stories earlier this month, but thought I’d be sure to add them here as well…

Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six-The title kind of gives this one away. Three couples rent a nice, fancy cabin hidden far back in the woods. As you can probably imagine, a terrible storm hits which makes the cabin even more secluded from town…no electricity, no cell phone reception and one of the women go missing. I’ll stop right there but this was such a suspenseful one that left me guessing until the end.

All Good People Here-This book was all about a missing girl from years ago and a journalist who happened to be her neighbor years before digs into finding the truth. Another good read but not as suspenseful.

The Quarry Girls-much more crime junkie style about a seriel killer who’s taking girls and they turn up murdered a few days later. I’d have absolutely loved this one but there was one really vulgar part I thought was unnecessary. Minus that part-I really liked this one!

The Family Upstairs-This one kept me wanting to stay up later and wake up early to get to the end of the book just to see what happened. It centers around Libby Jones who comes home from work on her twenty-fifth birthday to a letter with information regarding her birth parents. She quickly learns the simple information regarding her birth parents’ identity holds so much more of a mystery. And you get to go along for the ride…this is a great one!

The Family Remains-It picks up right where the first book left off with figuring out where each of the family members are now and the story continues. I’d highly suggest you read The Family Upstairs first before reading this one.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder-I’m almost finished with this one and so far-I’d say the first half is slow but the second half picks up. Five years ago a girl in town went missing, her boyfriend was the main suspect and before a trial even happened he took his own life. Senior in high school, Pip, decides to choose this as her senior project to investigate. Her investigation quickly becomes more of an obsession and she begins to discover some of the mysteries of that night five years ago.

I’m currently reading one that you suggested!!
Yay!! I finished A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder late last night {thank you Snow Day!} and am already starting a new one.
I’ve got nothin.
We recently went to see Nate Bargatze in-person and he was so funny! Adding to it, his dad was one of his openers and was hilarious also! We haven’t watched the special yet and it’s definitely on my to-watch list. Stay warm and safe!
