The Most Wonderful Time

We’ve had a busy weekend crammed full of Christmas parties and dance recitals, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  It seriously is the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!
Thursday, Bowen had his preschool Christmas party.  At the exact same time, Ebby Lee’s class was having a Reader’s Theater event so Marla came to the rescue for me!  She went to Bowen’s party so Tab and I could go see Ebby Lee’s event.

Bowen and his bestie, Ashby.  ðŸ™‚
They look proud of their books from the book exchange.  Don’t they?

His favorite part of the party-the SNACK!  Can you tell?  haha!

While they were partying over at preschool, Tab and I were watching this cute little reindeer perform.  She did a GREAT job!

Thursday night we had our Christmas with M and G (Tab’s dad and step-mom).  Marla always goes above and beyond with little dinners and parties at her house.  Her dining room table looked amazing!

My cute date for the evening. 🙂

Marla always has the best props as well.

Another shot of her cute dining room all ready for Christmas!

We had a GREAT night!!  Marla made a delicious “breakfast for dinner” meal.  Then we opened presents-M and G style.  Every year they give us all clues about where our presents are hidden.  We have to all go around the house looking for our gifts.  The kids get so excited about finding their presents and it makes the night last longer than just letting them all rip open presents.  I’d definitely recommend you guys trying it!

These three….one came from basketball practice, one had pajamas day at school, and the other came straight from ballet.  They were a hodge podge mess!  haha!

Friday morning, the big kids had Christmas parties at school.  Crafts, Christmas props, a game of Bingo, AND a sugary treat-yes, please!!

This girl enjoyed herself at the photo booth.

They’d request a picture, then want to see it, and then all bust up laughing at themselves!  Six-year-olds are fun!!

Then it was this cutie’s turn…he wasn’t as “into” the pictures as the girls.

Friday night, the college group at our church had their Christmas party at our house.  I did a horrible job taking pictures and did hardly anything for the party.  They ordered pizzas, brought drinks, and organized a White Elephant exchange.  Tab and I had all the goodies for smores and we made a Scavenger Hunt for them to do around town.  Here’s a little bit.  They were gone for about 45 minutes and came back with the BEST stories and pictures.

We ended the night with smores all huddled around the fire.

Saturday, Tab’s mom and step-dad came to town to have Christmas and watch Ebby Lee’s dance recital with us.  We had lunch, walked around one of our favorite areas, and then went back to exchange gifts.

After the recital, we were celebrating this sweet girl.  She was part of the Nutcracker.  She did SO good!!  I was so proud of her.

Yesterday, she had another recital where she performed a tap dance, a jazz dance, and then the Nutcracker again.

Can you spot Ebby Lee?

These two are so silly.  They have the best time getting to do dance together.

Night #2 was definitely a success!!  (Tab was there too, but he didn’t make any pictures…bummer!!).

We’re soaking up every minute of Christmas around here and hope you are too!!  4 more sleeps until Christmas!!

Hi Erika! This is totally random- but I finally broke down and bought the It's a 10 spray. I have very similar hair to your's and I was wondering how much am I supposed to be spraying on? Sometimes I feel I use too much and sometimes too little. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

These pics are so cute and fun! Would you mind sharing where you got Ebby Lee's coat? Also at the risk of sounding very unaware, I have never done a scavenger hunt, but reading your paper, it looks like it is so much fun. But what is the end result? do they actually find something? Or they just do a bunch of funny dares? Lol. #Ihaven'tlivedmuch. Haha!

I got her white coat at Gymboree-just the other day. Entire store was half off! For the scavenger hunt, when they all came back-I told them five things that were worth five points and everything else was worth one. They all added up totals and the winning team all got candy.

Love, love winter dance recitals. Ebby Lee is so pretty and her eyes just shine just like her mom. I tried to email you but it bounced…would really love to see the full scavenger hunt you guys went on. I've tried to search for something similar on Pinterest but no luck. I don't mind designing my own but I just suck at ideas. 🙂
