This weekend the kiddos and I tagged along on one of Tab’s football trips to Austin, Texas. Tab’s crew was assigned the University of Texas spring game on Saturday. Who doesn’t love a little road trip? We thought it’d be the perfect little getaway.
We arrived at our hotel on Friday afternoon and a LOT of this took place. What else are hotel beds for, right?
We stayed RIGHT on the river so this little trail was right outside. Lots of bikers, runners, and walkers were tearing it up out there and we decided to join them for a leisurely stroll. It looked like it was going to pour down rain at any second so we didn’t stay long.
In the pouring rain, we had dinner at Hula Hut on the lake. The kiddos stayed busy while we waited for our food by feeding the fish tortilla chips. Definitely fish that live in Texas! ha! After dinner we swam in the hotel pool and then rented Paddington in our pajamas.
We grabbed breakfast Saturday morning before heading over to the game.
Usually at Tab’s games, the security is pretty strict and without the correct credentials we can’t go anywhere. This game was so different!! We parked under the stadium with the crew, went out on the field before to take pictures, and ended by watching the game in the tunnel. Pictures with the cheerleaders were a bonus for Ebby Lee!
And…the dance team!
He looks ready! And super mean! haha!
Selfie on the field…check out Bowen in my glasses!
This was his very favorite part of the day.
Seriously. He ran around HARD! And he crawled up in my lap at the end of the first quarter and slept until halftime was over. Narci just gave my boys a few hand-me-downs and this Texas jersey was included. Perfect for our little trip!
This girl talked Daddy into these fancy schmancy legit-looking pom poms.
We ran into the Longhorn mascot in the tunnel. The big kids were all about it, but Bowen was screaming and gripping onto my leg like spiders were attacking him!
We waited impatiently in the face painting line UNTIL they passed out free chips. Then we were the most patient people ever!
She chose an orange butterfly.
And was so proud of it!
We spotted Daddy before the game started. We screamed like we were crazy people and he finally spotted us. 🙂 That’s him on the 14 yard line.
Whew!! We got HOT!!!
We were hanging out with another wife and her three daughters. They took a cute picture and all the girls had their hands on their hips looking a little sassy. Bowen and Ebby Lee tried their own little version of the sassy picture. Notice B’s hands on his hips. 🙂
We moved before the game to seats with backs and a teeny bit of shade.
We ended the game waiting on these girlies’ dads! My kiddos had the best time hanging out with the Fleming girls! They were so sweet! Bowen had them wrapped around his finger by the end of the game.
Mr. Alan is the referee (the one with the white hat and microphone) on Tab’s crew. His wife didn’t come, but I told her I’d send her a picture. Afterwards, I took this of him with Nixon. Our Nix has zero personality. Can you tell? 😉
We ended our little getaway with dinner and a drive back home in the POURING rain! It was a great little road trip!
