San Diego Getaway-Part 1

On Sunday morning, Tab and I boarded a plane headed for San Diego.  Tab had a work conference at the gorgeous Fairmont Grand Del Mar and my mom came in to babysit so I could join him.  My earrings are here!  While Tab had a little free time, he didn’t have ton so we really need to go back ASAP to see/do all the things you guys recommended that we didn’t have time for on this trip.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Have you guys read this one, The Family Next Door?  If you’re into suspense, thrillers, then READ THIS!  It’s SO good!

I read, You Will Know Me, on the flight.  This one is about a family whose live revolves around their gymnast daughter’s career.  There’s an “accident” and the question is posed…, “How far would you go to protect your family?”.  I’d give it three stars.  It was good, but not my favorite thriller.

I finished the book…and we arrived!

The Fairmont Grand Del Mar was absolutely gorgeous!

This was our room…so pretty!

And check out the view from our patio.

A peek into the bathroom.

At this point we were STARVING so we headed to The Clubhouse Grill for lunch.  The golf course was stunning!

Then we changed into swimsuits and set out for the adult-only pool.

I started, Gray Mountain, while I lounged poolside.

This place was stunning…I couldn’t stop talking about it.

A quick afternoon cup of coffee to help the time difference before we got ready for the cocktail reception and dinner.

In all the e-mails the event’s dress code said, “resort wear” so I tried to stick to that as much as possible.  There was still a little uncertainty of -“I hope this is similar to what everyone else is wearing!!” going through my head!  We walked into the reception and it was perfect!  All the women were dressed in very similar things…sundresses, etc.

Beware…you’re gonna see this skirt on repeat!

Monday morning we woke to amazing weather!

My agenda for the day was…
1.  Room Service Breakfast
2.  Spa
3. Adventure in La Jolla

Not a bad way to start the day.  Right?

I love a spa!

I arrived a little early and got in full-blown relaxation mode in the quiet lounge.

Then I had a ninety minute hot stone massage…it was heavenly!

Tab’s meetings had ended for the day and we set out on a little adventure…coming tomorrow!

Stay tuned to see the rest of our San Diego Getaway.

So fun! Any tips for how you prepare for leaving your kids behind and going on a trip? We are about to go on our first kid-less vacation since having them!

I was reading your post on Italy/Greece and saw this post and decided to read since my husband and I just got back from San Diego (stayed at the Farmont as well) two weeks ago – and I am 99.9% sure we stayed in the same exact room! So funny ๐Ÿ™‚ I had a spa treatment as well! Such a pretty resort!!
