MEXICO!

Hey!  Hey!

Let me tell you where I was last week…MEXICO!

Shay and I had planned a Mix and Match Travel trip to scout some resorts for clients in early May.  We got word we could get Miss Britt a little sooner than expected so we pushed this trip back to the end of July.

We’ve been busy little bees sending lots of clients to Mexico.  It’s such an easy flight from most cities, it’s super affordable, and the gorgeous beaches make it a fabulous vacation destination.  There are so many different resorts in Mexico and pictures (and even reviews from others) can be deceiving.  We decided the best way to check out a few resorts was to see them ourselves.

Our plan was to be gone three nights, stay at two different resorts, and really get a good feel of those two properties.  Well, our plans quickly changed when we arrived at resort number two and were not digging it at all.  (See what I mean about pictures being deceiving?!)  We moved some things around and quickly changed to resort number three.

You guys know I’m often forgetting to take pictures and this trip was no different than Erika in regular life.  haha!  You’ll see what I mean…(I apologize for the lack of pictures!)

Bright and early on Sunday morning ready to board our plane!

We’d checked into our first spot and were eating lunch pool side in just a few hours.  What a VIEW!  Our first stop was the Excellence Playa Mujeres resort.

We strolled around the property taking it all in and this guy was just chilling in the grass.  This must have been his “spot” because the next day we walked by and he was there again.

Excellence had pools, lazy rivers, and a gorgeous beach to keep guests entertained all day.

This beach was beautiful!

Selfie on the beach.  🙂

Remember how I mentioned I forgot to take pictures?  I have no pictures from night number one.  This was day two…SPA day!  Every time I visit a spa I say, “That was the best massage I’ve ever gotten”.  Maybe because it’s been so long since my last spa visit I can’t remember or maybe in the moment it sure feels like the best?  I’m not sure.  But I had an 80-minute stress relief massage and it was FABULOUS!

We spent the rest of the afternoon reading poolside.

Evening two…we hit up the French restaurant.  I’m still thinking about the French onion soup.

Day three we headed over to resort number two, weren’t happy (and instantly knew we’d never send any clients to this particular resort so decided it was better for us to go check out another property-I’m not gonna mention the name), and quickly grabbed a cab with a new third destination, The Ritz Carlton Cancun.

The Ritz Carlton was simply gorgeous.

These cabanas set up along the beach were so nice.  Please note the water back there…amazing!

And you guys…that’s all my pictures!  Clearly, I wasn’t in blogger mode.

We already have plans to go back to check out other properties.  I must say we were so happy with our first and last stop.  If you’d like helping planning a trip to Mexico, please reach out to us at mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com.  I didn’t want to go into a ton of details about this on the blog, but I’d love to share more in detail if you’re contemplating a Mexico trip.

Have a great Monday, ladies!  XO

I'm wondering if you could email me privately the name of the resort you skipped out on? I'm looking into resorts for Mexico, and would like to avoid it. 🙂

I have a question, considering you're from Texas, how long are your flights to Mexico?
This is making me want to relocate to Texas!
