Hey Friends! I’ve got a little dose of our lives lately for you today. Here’s a peek at what’s been keeping me behind the wheel in all those carpool lines and in the stands watching almost daily. Let’s get right to it…

Ebby Lee got to attend her first cheer camp as a FRESHMAN! She had a great week getting to know the other members of her squad better and absolutely loved it!

The parents got to attend Friday to watch all they’d learned and this freshman squad came home with some awards! They did great! And basically Ebby Lee slept until Saturday afternoon. hahaha! She was exhausted!

That same week Ebby Lee was away at cheer camp Bowen was attending our local high school’s football camp. Guess who came home on Friday with the Overall Camp MVP Award? BOWEN!

This weekend Bowen’s baseball team was supposed to be off and resting but he has some friends on another team who invited him to join them for the weekend. Tab and I switched off so I watched Nixon Saturday and then Bowen on Sunday. Let me tell you…it is NERVE WRACKING being a guest player on any team. You’re nervous, you’re trying so hard to do your best, and you’re trying to prove yourself to this new team. Needless to say, I was super proud of Bowen. He delivered on Sunday for the team!

And they snagged the championship in the silver bracket! Meanwhile, Tab was with Nixon who’s team was made their way to the championship only for lightning to delay, delay, delay until finally it was just cancelled. Boo!

I ordered several dresses and other items that arrived. You can see all my goodies in this post!

Monday morning a new round of camps began! Britt’s been going to volleyball camp all week. Yesterday was Disney Princess/Halloween Costume/Dress Up Day {but still be able to play volleyball} so she was a middle school cheerleader.

There’s a big baseball tournament a few times a year here called Middle School Matchup. Where we live middle schools don’t play baseball through our schools, so this group started big tournaments that groups kids going to the same middle schools together to compete against other middle schools. This big tournament happened Tuesday and Wednesday. This group of boys plays for all different baseball teams so getting to come together to represent their middle school makes it extra fun.

Can you spot our name?

Bowen and one of his friends did their best to watch as many games as possible.

And look who snagged the CHAMPIONSHIP title?! Nixon’s middle school!!

These boys played HARD the last two days and were undefeated to grab the championship win! They were fun to watch!

These three boys get to play together on the same team…don’t they look tough?! We sent their coach this picture letting him know they represented well. Not pictured…Nixon and the team swimming, eating pizza, and playing hide-in-seek at our house after the big win. Lots of memories have been made and it’s only week two of summer!
Thanks for catching up with me today! See you tomorrow for Friday Faves!
XO

What a fun recap with lots of sports and activities!

What a busy life lately! I feel like it’s so funny how each state does school sports differently–I don’t know why it isn’t all the same for the kids who move states! Our middle schools here have school baseball teams, but before that, it was travel ball before joining the high school team.

Hi Sarah! It is funny how they all do them differently!
Britty in the cheer uniform, oh my heart! So sweet!
It was the best we could do! haha!
WOW! You’ve already had quite a summer! Looks like those Slaughter kids are really tearing it up!!!!!!
You know what’s suffering? My summer tan!
Wow! You’ve got some busy talented (and cute) sports stars! I’ve got to call out Bowen and congratulate him for being camp MVP! Playing with his big brother and friends is paying off for him. Way to go Bowen!
Hahaha! That’s probably what’s helping! Thank you!
So…basically in one word SPORTS! Ha! It sounds like all your kiddos are having wonderful experiences.
