Let’s Look…At My Family

Hey There Wednesday!

Today is one of my favorites of the month, Let’s Look, where Shay and I invite you to join us to take a peek at the things in our life.  And if you’re blogging too, to take a peek at the things in your life as well.  We’re talking FAMILIES today!  I know I share a lot about my family already so these people probably aren’t new to you but if you’re new here…WELCOME!  And let me introduce you to my people!

Hi!  I’m Erika and the manager of the chaos.  I’m a stay-at-home mom turned blogger and travel agent who enjoys shopping, all things reality t.v., reading, and girls’ nights.

My hubby, Tab, and I met in college at Arkansas State University and after a job offer moved ourselves to Dallas, Texas, to begin married life in a big city.  We eventually made our way to my favorite suburb, McKinney, Texas, where we got settled and started a family of our own.

Tab is the Chief Sales and Operations Offer at his nine to five job but during football season you can find him in the middle of any college football game officiating.  Recently, he’s added Alliance of America Football League to his job titles so if you’ve been watching those games you might have seen him.
Nixon Talbot is eight-years-old…ALL BOY who wants to be playing sports all the time.  His favorite days are spent throwing some sort of ball around with friends and his least favorite days are rainy ones {because he’s forced to stay inside}.  This past football season was the first {of many, I’m sure} where he got up early on Saturday mornings to watch College Game Day and he knew what time his favorite teams to watch were playing so he’d be on the couch and ready!  A few of his favorites include baseball, flag football, St. Elmo’s Fire {the song}, and Chick-Fil-A.

Bowen Hency is six-years-old and in kindergarten this year.  He’s Mr. Social and just yesterday told me he had SO MANY FRIENDS in kindergarten.  Don’t worry, I have no doubts about that.  He is on the cusp of being able to completely hang with Nixon and his friends AND needing his mom when he gets hurt.  #fineline  Bowen is about to start a new season of coaches pitch and he cannot wait!

Ebby Lee is right in the middle of TWEEN-ness.  While she has a strong opinion about her hair, what she’s wearing, and how loud I sing in the car…she can still be caught playing with toys.  I am a big believer in keeping them as young and innocent as we possibly can for as long as we can so I love that she hasn’t given up all the toys just yet.  She’s playing a new season of volleyball this spring and is continuing her dance classes as well.  And she’s hoping to get those braces off this summer.  #herfingersarecrossed

Britt Bradford is three-years-old and is currently in week two of potty training.  {It’s consuming my life right now-odds are if you call me this week I’m going to bring up Britt’s potty situation.}  Her favorites include Peppa Pig and Mickey Mouse, reading books, the ABC song, and the Itsy Bitsy Spider.  She has always been so compliant and such a people pleaser but she’s officially hit the toddler/preschool stage where she has thoughts and ideas and she’s not afraid to express them.  She’s talking more and more every single day, while I might be the only one who understands her now-watch out world, she’s coming!

There you have it.  A little peek at the five people who have my heart.  🙂

Be sure to join us next month…when we share OUR PANTRIES!
Thanks so much for reading today, friends!
