This year Tab opened up (AGAIN) in Dallas with the 2016 Cowboys’ Classic game between USC and Alabama. Since the game was so close to home, Nixon and I decided to tag along ALL weekend with the crew.
We drove to the hotel in Dallas on Friday evening, had dinner with the crew, and got up the next morning for a yummy breakfast. So far-I could TOTALLY get used to this fall life Tab leads. haha!
Several of the other moms/children were in attendance this weekend because of the holiday, so we decided to load up and head to Klyde Warren Park to burn off some energy. Nixon and his two buddies played some football.
*Sidenote, if you’re visiting and looking for a cool park-you should DEFINITELY check this one out. There are food trucks for lunch, playground, splash pad, and a big grassy area as well.*
Nixon was sweating bullets but it was totally worth it in his little six-year-old mind.
Those poor girls were over the boys and the heat at this moment. 🙂
The kids all enjoyed an ice cream sandwich (from a food truck which makes everything taste better) to cool off a bit.
Then it was GAME TIME!!
These three had a blast watching the big game. They sat in the row in front of us-WAY too cool to sit with their moms.
These boys are a mess! But we had GREAT seats in the end zone.
I enjoyed my one-on-one time with this guy.
We enjoyed the game AND the stadium food. Popcorn, pretzels, and ice cream!!
The bands are ALWAYS a hit!
Check out the cute umpire on the big screen. 😉
They asked for pictures with the helmets. We tried to find the USC helmets, but were apparently in the wrong location.
The game was a GREAT one to watch! We had a blast!
Then Sunday we made it back home. One of the families stopped by for a cookout on the way to their house. The boys swam, we had burgers, and then we were all ready for bed by 8:00 p.m. I’m not even kidding.
Boys will be boys. Right?
Smith joined us while Kensington had her birthday party.
On Monday, our family of five headed to the local pool for a last swim. Then we made it home to get ready for the week.
Hope you enjoyed your long weekend and got all rested up! Happy Wednesday, Friends! XOXO
What a fun weekend with Nixon! He totally looked in his element in every picture :). And Smith had a blast on Sunday afternoon! Thank you again so much!
Nix was living it up! And mama was looking GORGEOUS at the game!
Sounds like you and Nixon had a blast – such special memories you guys are making together!
I saw tab on tv!! What a fun weekend ☺️
So fun that you guys could tag along! The boys with the Bixby shirts- are they from Oklahoma? Bixby is right south of Tulsa!
Yes, they're in your neck of the woods. 🙂
Where is that local pool, or the name of it? My in laws live in McKinney and that looks SO fun for them with my girls…or me too! 😉
Looks like a great weekend with Nixon! I bet he enjoyed time with you so much! Love it.
What a fun adventure for you and Nixon! I LOVE Klyde Warren Park. I went there last time I was in Dallas and can't wait to go again when we come down for a game this fall.

This Alabama graduate is so jealous of your seats at the game. Awesome and thanks for sharing!
What a fun weekend. I love following your blog and IG pictures. Its fascinating that Tab officiates college games (I'm a huge Buckeye fan). If you're open to sharing in advance, would love to know what games he does from week to week (think of it as a "where's Waldo"). It would be fun to look for him while watching games.
I'd love to do that but Tab doesn't like me to share until during or after? Maybe it's one of those superstition things? I don't know?
I am SOOOO jealous of you getting to go to the Alabama game! Looks like you had a great weekend.
How fun! I've been reading your blog for years but have never commented. However, being that I'm Alabama alumni, I'm stopping in to say, "Roll Tide."
That's a win not getting a pic with a USC helmet! Haha that game was a total blowout and Alabama rolled the Trojans! How fun that you get to tag along for the fun! I love college football and look for your hubby on tv! That's a cool thing he does!
