How We…DO ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS!

 HEY FRIENDS!

I cannot believe Shay and I are wrapping up the last How We Wednesday of the year!  Time flies when you’re having fun!  Keep reading to the bottom to see all the fun we have in store for 2019!

To recap our year…
*In January, we shared HOW WE…DO GOALS/RESOLUTIONS.

*In February, we discussed HOW WE…TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES.

*In March, we talked HOW WE…MOM FAIL.

*And April, we shared HOW WE…ORGANIZE AND SPRING CLEAN.

*In May, we discussed HOW WE…TRANSITION OUR WARDROBES.

*And June, we shared HOW WE…PLAN SUMMER VACATIONS.

*July, was all about HOW WE…MOTIVATE OUR KIDS.

*Right before school started we shared HOW WE…PACK LUNCHES.

*And September had us discussing HOW WE…FALL.

And today we’re talking HOW WE…DO ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS!

This truly is the most magical time of the year and I do everything I can as a mom and planner of our house to squeeze every ounce of fun out of this season I possibly can.  Sometimes that looks like a big fabulous night out on the town and other nights it looks like a simple dinner and movie night at home.

The best thing I do to ensure we have the most magical December is…I WRITE IT ALL DOWN!  I write down everything we do during the month…even “Watch The Grinch”, because if not, we’ll look up and it’ll be December 25th and we’ll have missed out on some traditions.  {But if we do, I don’t stress-I’ll share more about that later!}  Like I said before, all the Christmasy things do not have to be big.  But I write it all down….even the little things.  I also do this to make sure I don’t forget something important-like Ebby Lee’s choir performance-I kept forgetting to write it down and totally would have missed it.  {Thanks, Shay!}

These are some of the things we do every year…{But I totally don’t stress if it doesn’t happen.  The year Bowen was born we didn’t visit Santa because I had a teeny baby, was conductor of the Hot Mess Express, exhausted because TINY BABY, and two preschoolers who were keeping me WAY too busy to make a reservation to visit Santa.  Yes, here in McKinney, we have to make reservations to visit Santa.  Anyway-the point is-we do what we can and I don’t stress if we miss something!}

 *We decorate the house.   I’ve gotta be honest…this was from last year.  We’re having some sort of electrical issue and our lights are only working every third night.  Tab’s about to go crazy.  🙂

 *We enjoy fun dinners with friends.

*We get to see our favorite dancer in her Christmas recital.

*We decorate the inside of the house and our pesky elf visits.

*Our elf brings a few little surprises along the way like this advent activity book from the dollar spot at Target.

*We watch the downtown McKinney Christmas parade with friends.  {This was cancelled this weekend but already has been rescheduled!}

*The teachers at our elementary school carol around the neighborhoods and we love getting to see them.

*We have double date nights under the festive lights.

*We hit up the mall along with the rest of the ENTIRE county because Christmas crowds are fun…right? 😉

*We visit Santa {most years-remember baby Bowen and 2012?}…this was the moment last year right before we saw Santa.  Britt was much happier in this moment.

 *We have framily fun night with the Shull Crew!

 *Church group Christmas dinner party…this is such a fun night with friends…even if I end the night looking in the wrong direction during group pics!?!  #whatwasidoing

*We wear our Christmas pajamas, grab hot cocoa, and check out the lights around our town.

Thank you SO MUCH for following along this year!  Shay and I are PUMPED about the fun in store in 2019!

 The new link-up is Let’s Look!  It’s still the second Wednesday of every month where we’ll be taking a peek into your lives.  This is the schedule…

I cannot WAIT!  It’s gonna be fun!  If you blog, please save the dates and join us in January!

Thanks so much for reading today, friends!
XO

    So many fun traditions. I too write down every little thing but really don't stress if we do it ALL. This year I cut up slips of paper and made them advent activities but found that my boys are getting so big they didn't always want to do what was planned (like cutting out paper snowflakes and making paper chains) so I said OK. It's all about making the Christmas season fun and if they want to scale down a bit I am totally find with that. 🙂 They still participated in all the "big" stuff like decorating the tree and going out to see Christmas lights so I'm just trying to find my footing with teenagers at Christmas time.
