As a mom and chaos coordinator for my family, I enjoy reading how others tackle things like mornings, organization, fitness, night times, and let’s be honest-basically anything you’ll show me. I know I’ve established this in many posts since the quarantine life began but things right now are not like they usually are in my house meaning kids stay up late, they sleep in later than normal, etc. A typical quarantine life morning looks very different than a usual morning. I have no doubts when I’m telling my grandchildren about these days I won’t forget the details but just in case, this post is for them AND any of you who {like me} enjoy seeing how others handle things.
This was my morning just yesterday living the quarantine life at the moment…
5:45-Alarm goes off and I take a few minutes reading some of my favorite blogs before hopping out of bed. Giving myself ten to fifteen minutes before getting up helps me “wake up” a bit. Tab was still asleep so I went out in the living room to snap a selfie in my palm tree pajamas.
6:10-With coffee in hand, I snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and my bible study plus I started reading a little bit of a book as well. I’m almost finished with the Discerning the Voice of God study {my copy is the old edition} and with my extra time in the morning I started reading Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst and I’m reading one little devotion from Bob Goff’s Live in Grace, Walk in Love book. One thing I have to be thankful for during these times is just extended time in the morning.
7:15-Ready or not, it was time for my workout. A Peloton ride followed up with a quick core workout. {You can see my workout schedule for the week in yesterday’s post.}
7:45-DONE and I was looking a MESS!
8:00-As I let my heart rate get back down to a normal pace, I made the bed. Britt had come down, brought her animals and a blanket, and watched me finish by workout.
8:45-Britt and I got dressed for the day in real clothes. The first week I stayed in pajamas almost the entire week, second week I wore workout clothes, and this week I’ve been wearing “real clothes”, which probably means next week I’ll be in formal wear. If the trends continue?? {My sweater is here.}
I should add Britt chose her outfit and decided a llama sweater paired perfectly with her llama pajama pants. #ofcourse #whatelesewoulditgowith
9:00-I made sure our “school space” was ready for the day. Last week, Ebby Lee turned our dining room into a an “art room”. It’s turned out to be so nice because everything they could need for their school work this week is right at our fingertips. I also made sure all the kids were up and moving.
9:15-I’ve learned one thing about my kiddos this week. In this setting, they voted for sleeping in and grabbing something quick as they get started for school over an earlier wake up and a bigger breakfast. We all grabbed our breakfast of choice {a banana with peanut butter, protein bar, yogurt, etc.} before sitting down to get our school on.
9:30-I found the perfect seat by this first grade cutie as we began our day.
9:30-Beside me was this cutie, who was working on her own homework sent to us by her sweet speech teacher.
9:30-And Ebby lee was getting her work on as well.
We spent the rest of our morning getting all their school work finished and then we went outside for a bit before heating up leftovers for lunch.
Hope your Tuesday morning was off to a great start as well! Hang in there, friends! We’re all in this together!
XO
Love a routine post!
So excited to see the formal wear post next week!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Getting dressed in "real clothes" has helped me this week!!!
Your routine looks perfect. I know you said each day will look different, but this one would fit perfect into my life. I loved that you didn't start your school until 9-9:15. The flexibility is definitely a plus of all the craziness.
I love a routine post especially with this new normal going on. Good luck for the rest of the week.

Thanks for the inside look – looks like you're keeping everyone productive and busy, that's a win!
And if your kids are interested in a new craft, I wanted to share my sister's new Etsy store. It features beautiful collage making kits for both adults and kids. Check it out! And thanks again for sharing, provides a good distraction during these times : )

I left this comment on Shay's post as well… was wondering if you two could share about your engagement and wedding rings! I'd love to know more about them, and it would be fun for your readers to share about theirs as well!
JustWanted to say thank you so much for posting about your day… I have three small children and it’s been kind of hard not being able to go out. I really enjoy seeing other moms and the hard work you’re putting in each and every day. lots of love!❤️❤️❤️
