Happy Monday!
This weekend was full of ALL THINGS POTTY TRAINING. Tab was out of town Friday-Sunday and when he got home on Sunday afternoon he told me that I looked stressed. I’m positive I gave him the side-eye and then it hit me…my husband is AMAZING at so many things but he has never participated in this potty training game. He didn’t get it. Needless to say, after my answer of why I might appear stressed after a weekend of potty training solo I have no doubts he’ll never mention me looking stressed again. 😉
Once again, I’m gonna mention this book {Sorry, I can’t stop talking about it}. Everything she’s suggested has definitely helped. She has paragraphs for trouble shooting a wide variety of problems that could possibly occur during any of the building block stages. And I’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to the readers who recommended I read the book! When I was potty training my other three I definitely didn’t know it was an option. Anyway, if you’ll be potty training soon, READ IT!
When I asked for your feedback at the end of the year, I got a lot of requests for more fitness/health related posts. So today we’re talking HEALTHY HABITS!
I did a post ALL ABOUT FITNESS in February last year. So much of that post is still how I’m feeling today. If you missed it, go check it out!
I’m not someone who LOVES working out. Granted, I LOVE the way I feel AFTER I work out but the before and middle parts of working out aren’t my faves. It’s important for me to be healthy and more importantly feel healthy. I try to make it to the gym twice a week for group classes. I absolutely love our instructor, have friends I do it with, and the workouts are tough. But as a mom of four who works from home, I can’t always make it to the gym.
When I’m working out at home, it’s important for me to find workouts that are thirty minutes or less. That’s really all I’ve got-if I’m working out at home. Otherwise my mind wanders to pretty much anything other than working out and I find myself shutting that video right down.
These are my favorite at-home options right now…
1. I am obsessed with that potty training book! Every time you tell me something about it, I'm like GENIUS! 2. The Peloton app is THE BEST 3. Cheese, carbs and chocolate are basically the foundation of our friendship. And onions.
Hahahaha! xo
So glad I'm passed the potty training stage! It is exhausting! Hang in there, Mama!! I found the Faster Way to Fat Loss program last year and LOVE it. It is a way of eating to fuel your body but still allows you those treats in moderation. Hello donuts on Saturday! I did a post on my blog with FWTFL questions and answers if you ever want to read up on it. It incorporates intermittent fasting which i think has changed the way I eat and FEEL the most! Have a great Monday!! Simply Tish
When you were telling me about that book, I couldn’t believe how genius it was! Soooo good! And so happy to spend our two mornings a week together. Friends make it way better!
You do a great job with balance! And I'm wondering, did Britt hit her quota this weekend? 🙂
I just ordered the potty training book! I’ve got three little girls, two and under, and my oldest is showing signs of being ready, I’m just not mentally prepared yet! Thank you so much for recommending especially since I need to get my mindset right. This will be my first time potty training so it will be a trial run before the next two are ready hahaha
We started potty training last Monday since it was a holiday and a week in and I am finally feeling like we are getting over the hump. I also used this book and it has been very helpful. My only problem with the book is the way she down talks to delayed potty training (which we are doing). Other than that, we are doing great and you will too!! We are not tackling night time or nap time yet but last week was seriously exhausting. Right there with you mama!
AZBABY24…I totally agree with you. Every time she mentions that I get panicked JUST a bit because Britt is older too!
I am excited to try, If you were picking one exercise app – would you do Beach Body on Demand or the Peloton?
My potty training days are long behind me, thankfully, but a few friends are just beginning and now I have a book to recommend. Also, I think I might invest in the beach body workouts. Do they have yoga options too?

Pilates at home is my usual way to work out. And with food too, I try to just balance the healthy with the fun foods. I never diet, just try to make smart choices and eat real foods…and chocolate chips are my favorite snack. ;P
I just potty trained my twins using that book as a guide – big thanks for mentioning it a while ago. It definitely helped get ME in the right mindset. We took advantage of the 3 day holiday weekend last week and so far, so good! Not my favorite parenting chore, ha! Also LOVE beach body on demand 21 day fix, too! The variety is great and keeps me engaged. Have a great day!
Yes! Beachbody has yoga too! I think if I were choosing one-is vote Beachbody. It has more options for indoor at home workouts. Peloton has lots but many that are cycling related. They also have some for running/walking outdoor. Kind of depends on what you’re looking for.
I LOVE BOD! I am doing 80DO right now…I have lost 9 inches so far! It's the perfect alternative to the gym!☺
