Hey Hey! Shay and I are almost finished recapping our Hawaiian Cruise from 2020. If you’ve missed any of the recaps and want to check those out…
I have two quick things to add before we jump right into the post…
1. The two days I’m recapping today happen to be March 12th and 13th, 2020. While I shared in the first Hawaii post, I wasn’t going to deep dive into covid on this vacation but it is worth mentioning that these two days felt “off”, for lack of a better word. In Hawaii, things were still very normal as it took a bit longer to really shut down that part of the world but we knew our friends and family were experiencing something much different back in Texas.
2. Due to that, my picture taking was at an all-time low. I didn’t take many pictures on these two days.
Just wanted to share about that.
On Thursday morning we woke up in beautiful Kauai. This island has all the beauty of a Hawaiian island with the added bonus of gorgeous mountains and lush gardens. Our plans for the day involved a day pass to a resort we’d set up before even arriving. If you listened to the podcast, then you know this resort wasn’t what we had in mind so we pivoted just a bit and decided to spend our day right on the beach at Marriott’s Kauai Beach Club.
Any guesses on who hit up the souvenir shop in Maui? 😉
Our views from the ship pulling into Kauai. This island was stunning, and is one on our list of places we’d love to visit again. This island is known for having lots of adventure options…ziplining, tubing, etc..but our group wasn’t old enough to do all of that on this trip.
The gorgeous resort was right behind me with a big pool, but our views in the front were these volleyball courts and then the beach.
Our ship docked just right down that path so this resort was a quick walk away.
The views behind our beach chairs. {I totally failed on a great picture of the pool.}
We ported on Thursday and mid-day they began setting up for a beach volleyball tournament happening over the weekend. {Spoiler alert-since our ship was docked Thursday and a big part of the day Friday we found ourselves right back in this spot on Friday but the people watching and volleyball watching were absolutely perfect the second day. Ebby Lee and Kensington, as well as the rest of us, were super entertained by all the volleyball observing we did.}
Popsicles are always a must when you spend your day in the sun.
And then we walked back to our ship to get ready for dinner. Any guesses on which three kids were happy to take a picture? Instagram life…
versus REALITY!
😂😂😂😂
I think we were trying to race the rest of the group in the elevator.
We woke up the next day and decided our day before had been so much fun we did it all over again…walked right to the resort and spent as long as we could at the pool/beach before going back to the ship to set sail.
I wish I’d have snapped a picture to the right…many courts and lots of volleyball happening.
I did manage to get some cute pictures of these three at the kiddie pool.
And then we were back on the ship all ready for dinner.
Again, if you’ve missed any posts,
