Friday Favorites-Dance Class Edition

Happy Friday, Everyone!

I hope you guys have had a great week!  Tab has been out of town since Saturday morning and he got back last night so mama is looking forward to giving him most of the reins this weekend.  🙂

Narci, Andrea, and I are teaming up to share our Friday Favorites.  Typically, I share a hot random mess of things with you.  Items I love, something that happened during the week, or just something that catches my eye but today is a little different.

I mentioned in my last post-adoption post all about Britty that we tend to treat her like more of a baby than she really is.  One of those things being extracurricular activities…wanna take a guess at the age when Ebby Lee got to participate in an activity?  TWO!  Guess how old Britty is?  THREE!

I’d contemplated taking Britt to dance but just decided with four kids she could wait until she was a little older, but she happened to be with me when one day while we were waiting for Ebby Lee in dance class.  Britt Slaughter busted some MOVES in the hallway just watching Ebby Lee’s class through the window.  To be honest, I really thought she would cry being in class with me in the hallway.  But in that moment, I knew it was time to give dance a shot.

This past Tuesday I took this tiny ballerina to dance class.

And she NAILED IT!  She walked into class without even looking back.  She actually fell on the step up, popped herself right up, and walked on into class.  Her teacher gave her a dot to stay on during dance time.  She listened so well.

Please note our reflections in that mirror…she had an entourage watching and waving at her the entire thirty minutes.
I’m gonna go ahead and apologize now for the insane amount of pictures.  I promise I won’t do this again until maybe her spring dance recital.  😉

Britty stretched.

 I mean…skills, right?

And she waved.  She did a LOT of checking to make sure we were watching.

 We always were.

Nixon, Kensington, Ebby Lee, and me were all sitting right next to the window like crazy people seriously watching her every move.  I’m not even gonna lie…I think my friends, Jill and Brittany, spotted me tearing up but I played it off like I had something in my eye!  haha!

The fact that this sweet girl spent way too much time in an orphanage without anyone doting on her breaks my heart, but we serve a big God who allowed this girly to have a fan club like no other on her first day of dance class.  God is good, you guys!

Halfway through class she came out to switch from ballet shoes to tap shoes.  She was SO excited and so eager to go right back in to dance some more!  No tears AGAIN!

They did the cutest little tap work and then ended dance class with what I’m guessing was, “C’Mon Ride That Train” or “The Locomotion”?

As a mom I’ve spent way too much time thinking {probably should add WORRYING} about her development and am doing everything I possibly can to make sure she’s caught up to her age when it comes to all the milestones.  We still have a ways to go…but you guys.  My mama heart was exploding during that thirty minute dance class on Tuesday afternoon.

I repeat…EXPLODING!

 The cutest little dancers!

She ended class by getting a stamp!  She showed us all night long, repeated, “stamp” over and over, and we even facetimed Tab to show him the stamp.

And we made sure to enroll in dance class because this girl did such a great job!  I’m so proud of her!

I say it a lot.

You might get tired of me saying it, but adoption is simply amazing.  Those two on the bench were born in different countries but were destined to be siblings.  They have such a big love for one another.  I’m so so thankful God chose adoption for our family and I’m so very thankful we said-yes.

Okay, now I’m headed to get tissue to dry these eyes!  🙂

Hope you guys have a fabulous Friday!  Thanks for letting me brag about my girly today!
XO

Aw she did great! I loved every pic! I’m the same way, I have a 9 month old daughter and I don’t know why but I don’t want to over share all my cute pics of her. I get it, not everyone loves kids, but I think sometimes we need to just let our hearts explode and post every single one 🙂
