Friday Favorites-6.19.26

Happy, Happy Friday!

I’ve been MIA for several weeks and that’s because we were in….

SWITZERLAND!!!

Before I get into a full blown recap, let me remind you I’m here with my girl, Andrea, sharing some FRIDAY FAVORITES! This time my FAVORITES are going to be a full blown recap of our Switzerland getaway!

If you’ve been reading here a while, you might remember we’ve traveled to…

Iceland

Portugal

Tuscany

-all with this crew! Tab and I have had Switzerland on our list to visit so we were EXTRA excited when it was announced as this year’s destination. This company trip SPOILS us! Every detail is planned so thoughtfully we have to do zero to prepare and it’s always amazing! Spoiler alert-this trip was AMAZING!

Tab and I arrived in Zurich the night before everyone “officially” arrived and we took a car over to Lucerne.

As we’d expected Lucerne was absolutely gorgeous! This little city next to the lake was stunning.

We took a quick nap, got up and got ready to explore the city a bit.

I’m a sucker for a cute body of water. This lake {hard to tell in the pics} was clear blue water. So very pretty!

The famous Chapel Bridge was behind us in this one.

Do we look tired? Because we WERE in this picture! haha! Our plan was to stroll the streets a bit, have a nice dinner and SLEEP!

We decided to eat at this brewery right on the lake and people watch. We had the most legit chicken cordon bleu to kickoff what we knew would be a great week.

Then our waitress had us go out and practically have a photo shoot. hahaha!

See what I mean?!

We walked the famous bridge before calling it a NIGHT!

*************************

Day 2-we planned a private tour for us because everyone else was traveling in on this stay. We were up early to meet our guide and train over to Mt. Rigi for a day of adventure.

Check out the train!

We trained over to another town where we took the cogwheel train up to almost the top.

We had to do a small little hike before…

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!! Isn’t that STUNNING?!

We were so high up we were in the clouds a bit. Super cool to see this cross at the top.

We truly couldn’t get over THE VIEWS!!

We had lunch mid-mountain, then walked to a spa located right on the side of the mountain before we gondola’d down to another town…

to catch the boat back to Lucerne. It was THE PERFECT way to spend our first day! We had a group dinner later this evening but I forgot to take a single picture.

*************************

Day 3-Group activity to Mt. Pilatus was on the agenda!

Getting to the top of Mt. Pilatus was similar to getting to the top of Mt. Rigi. A bus to a cogwheel train with a small hike to the top.

That building in the background is a hotel/restaurant where we had lunch.

CAN YOU EVEN with this view?!

I needed sunglasses. ;). We made our way down on a cool gondola before getting dressed and ready for a fun dinner…

on Lake Lucerne!

The views were breathtaking from the water!

**************************

Day 4-We all packed up, loaded up on two big buses and moved from Lucerne to Montreux {right there on Lake Geneva}. We stopped at Bern on our way for a few hours plus a delicious lunch but I forgot pics AGAIN!

That evening was our fancy awards night and here are some of the ladies. The room was GORGEOUS and since Montreux was home to Freddie Mercury from Queen we had a Queen cover band perform. Super fun!

*************************

Day 5-We split into different groups so Tab and I chose a hike! I’m not exactly sure what the name of the area was we were hiking.

Living in Missouri and Texas, I’ve seen a LOT of cows in my day BUT there’s something much, much sweeter about a cow with a bell around his neck. He instantly becomes WAY cuter.

It was SO cool how these cows grazed and we’d hear those cow bells ringing as they moved.

For dinner we all bussed to the adorable town of Gruyere.

It was a tiny little Swiss village that’s famous for {you guessed it} that delicious CHEESE!

AND a super cool bar designed by one of the creators of the movie Alien, this bar was made to look like it’s full of bones…

What a RANDOM thing to see in the middle of this cute little town.

Cocktail hour was right on the side of the mountain…

On this evening we had a traditional Swiss fondue meal that I’m STILL thinking about. 😉

*************************

Day 6-Was our last full day and we had FREE TIME! Tab and I slept so late we missed breakfast, then we walked around town a bit, had a yummy lunch and spent the afternoon at the spa!

Our farewell dinner was once again up on the mountain and was THE best meal I had all week. They saved the best for last. This little chalet was ADORABLE and everything you’d envision a Swiss spot to be.

Cocktail hour was absolutely stunning!! Followed by the most delicious meal and then we were asleep! Tab and I left the next morning before 4:00 a.m. to get back to our people!

We LOVED Switzerland! If you have it on your bucket list, YOU SHOULD VISIT! Seriously, everything we did was a FAVORITE!

Thanks so much for reading today! I’ll be back next Friday!

YES! My computer that I’ve used forever and was ancient DIED this week. My login to this blog was saved on that old computer so it took me three days WITH help to figure out how to break into this blog to post. ha! I ran out of time to link all the things but let me work on that and I’ll try to link them for next Friday!

Where is your very cute sleeveless white tee shirt from in your travel pics? you have a colorful necklace with it and a blue/white jacket
    Thank you

The blue and white jacket when we’re up on the top of that mountain? The white sleeveless tee is from Loft. It’s a little thicker/not see through at all! My only regret is I dried it and it might have shrunk a bit after the trip.

Wow!! I went to Switzerland way back in 2011, and it’s hard for me to remember lots of things. We did go to Lake Lucerne, and I remember riding a gondola up the mountain. It was supposed to be deemed the highest gondola ride in the world, or something like that. I was a little uneasy about it. However, once we got to the top of the mountain, the clouds were covering everything and sadly you could not see anything. All these pictures make me want to go back for a second trip!

I think we might have been on that same gondola! Was it the highest graded gondola ride or something like that?
