Friday Favorites 1.10.20

Hey, Hey Friends!

The FIRST FRIDAY FAVORITES of the entire year!  Now that is something to be excited about.  Every Friday, Narci, Andrea, and I host a Friday Favorites link up.  We invite any and all bloggers to join us.  Simply grab our graphic, link up to us, and then add your blog to the link up at the bottom of the post.  Easy peasy!

My parents are arriving tonight, Ebby Lee has a volleyball tournament this weekend, and we’ll fit in our last little Christmas celebration at some point.  I left the mantle decorations up in the front room for three reasons…1. Because we’re still celebrating with my parents.  2.  Because I’m too tired to take them down.  #truth  3.  Our attic needs to be cleaned out and I keep secretly hoping I can send Tab supernatural signals to get him to do it.  Spoiler alert-he’s not picking up on my signals.  We did not have the organization and time management skills to get it all taken down the day after Christmas plus pack and leave for our trip early the next day.  Now, I’m suffering the consequences…random bits of Christmas are still staring at me.  Am I the only one?

First up, is this FAVORITE.  Every Slaughter kid got a bike for Christmas and the boys have been riding theirs to school.  They think they are HOT STUFF and it’s the cutest thing.  They bounce out of bed every morning with the best attitudes.

Canned peas, surely everyone is listing this as a FAVORITE?  hahahaha!  I know.  I know.  We shouldn’t be eating a veggie from a can, BUT they are the BEST!  Marla always makes these and I had to share.  We had them this week and they’re a FAVORITE!

Another FAVORITE?  This cauliflower rice.  Know why?  90 SECONDS!  I’m a fan of the frozen cauliflower rice as well, but spied this this week and was sold at the time.  SO darn easy!

FAVORITE #4…this girl’s crazy hair day.  Why, oh why would I look ridiculous if I was out in public with crazy hair, but Britty’s wild and crazy hair is my FAVORITE?

This sweet face is always a FAVORITE!

A FAVORITE reminder at the beginning of a new year when we’re all full of new 2020 goals.

Another FAVORITE?  Cute clothes at GREAT prices!  I’ve partnered with Wal-Mart a few times over the last few months and every time I dig in to shop, I’m always amazed.  Wal-Mart has stepped it up in the fashion game, and I’m here for it!

Here are a few FAVORITE pieces I found recently…

This black lace peplum top is definitely being added to my closet.  I sized up for the length.
#longtorsoproblems

This maxi floral dress is a little outside of my norm, but I love it!

That first picture doesn’t do it justice.  I wanted you to see the top is way more form fitting and the bottom is flowy.  Sometimes dresses like this are too flowy for my liking and end up leaving me with no shape.  I didn’t think this was the case at all.  I ordered my true size, a small.

Anyone looking for a LBD {Little Black Dress?}  I sized up to a medium.  Anything others refer to as a, “Mini Dress”, is gonna get a size up from me.  I’m SO glad I did!  The length on this was perfect!

And this dress was screaming at me to share with all my teacher friends.  I sized up again.  It was a great length for school days and you could dress it up more or dress it down…booties, tall boots, heels, etc.  Priced at under fifteen dollars!!  {This one isn’t lined so I’d wear a slip.}  If you’re on the shorter side, I don’t think you’d have to size up at all.

Special thanks to my little helper while I was taking pictures yesterday.
I found some cute stuff, friends!  You can see all my faves here…

Thank you to Wal-Mart for sponsoring this post.

This verse has been a FAVORITE for years.  I remember highlighting this in my bible in college.  It’s funny how verses can speak to you at different stages of life but can still be exactly what you need to hear in that moment.  Maybe you need this reminder today, too?

Whew!  That wraps up my list today!  I’m off to tackle all the things on my to do list!  Hope you get yours all checked off before the weekend arrives as well!  Happy FRIDAY!
XO

That's one of my all-time favorite Bible verses too. It's so hard to do, but a great reminder!

That maxi looks great on you! I fully support that sometimes you need canned veggies. They are great for the budget, nostalgic, and hey it's a vegetable.

Those are our favorite peas. I pretty much only cook vegetables out of a can. If I bought fresh all the time about 99% would go in the trash after it has rotted.lol

Ahaha I will only eat LeSeur Peas. No joke. My whole family is hopelessly devoted to them, and my Dad loved them so it passed onto me as well!

I love the red dress and the little black dress. I would never have guessed that they were from Wal-Mart. We LOVE those peas. In fact, it is the only peas my family will eat, lol.

That Walmart has really upped their fashion game. I bought a darling sweater dress through Walmart online that was great quality, stylish and sooo affordable!! Pinned your darling maxi. You girls look so cute!!

And LeSueur peas!!! My fave veggie since I was a little girl! I read a book entitled The All-of-a-Kind Family when I was in elementary school, about a family at the turn of the century. A big treat for them was getting peas(!) in a cone-shaped paper cup and sprinkling the peas with an abundance of black pepper before enjoying them. From the day I read that, I started eating peas. LeSueur being my favorite kind. So good.
