Destin Beach Vacation-Part 2

Day 5:
Odds are if we’re on vacation and you ask me for chips at 10:30, I’m gonna let you have them.  It’s VACATION!

On Tuesday, we wanted a little change of scenery so we drove over to Seaside to check it out and have lunch.  It was the CUTEST little town.  For some reason I felt like I was in another country.  We all tried something different for lunch from the food trucks.  Then we sit outside a block away from the equator I’m pretty sure and enjoyed our (HOT) lunch.  ðŸ™‚

Sometimes you need a selfie with mom.

We were the only survivors on the walk over to the beach.  Gorgeous view!

Then because we weren’t hot enough (totally being sarcastic) we ran around this grassy area.

The houses and streets pretty much all look the same so we followed Tab on a little five minute walk to where he THOUGHT the car was.  He decided he’d go alone to find it and then swing back by to pick us up.  About ten minutes and a parking ticket later, he found the car and got us!

That night we headed to The Track for go-karts, rides, and bumper cars.

This boy is ALL about the trains.

Standing in line for the bumper cars-it was the boys against the girls!

Don’t we look scary??

Ebby Lee tore it up on the go-kart track.

When did this little guy get old enough to ride a go-kart??  He was SO funny to watch!!

My girl and me 🙂

These handsome guys tried their best to beat us.  Unfortunately, they were successful at the very end.

We waited in a super long line for the BIG track.  Bowen was my riding partner and just as it was our turn he fell asleep.  So I had to sit out, but I got to watch these two!

Day 6:
Wednesday we hit up Big Kahuna’s, the water park in town.  It was our first trip and we will never go back to Destin without visiting.  We had a blast!!  I put my cell phone in a locker the entire time we were there so I don’t have any pictures.  There were plenty of things for all my kiddos to do.  Bowen could go down water slides and float the lazy river in his puddle jumper.  It was fabulous!  And…we made plans to see some friends from college who happened to be going to the water park that day too!

We ate at the condo, watched a movie, and this happened by 8:00 that night.

Day 7:
Thursday morning we had plans to drive over to where our friends, the Dreffs, were staying to spend the day at the beach with them.
We started off the day burying Tab in the sand.

Then it was Ebby Lee’s turn. 🙂

We walked up and had lunch.  I snapped this picture of the kiddie table.  No telling WHAT was happening over there.

Bowen sat in my lap under the umbrella and was out in less than five minutes.  We found him a place in the shade and he took an ocean-side nap.

These sweet girls had the best time jumping the waves.

While these cuties built sand castles.

It was so good to see Narci and her family!!

Baytowne Wharf is one of my very favorite areas!!  I love the restaurants, the kid stuff to do, and the atmosphere.  We had pictures that evening with Narci and then we headed over to grab dinner.  By the time we arrived this magic show was coming to an end, but Tab found a table while the kiddos and I watched part of the show.  Can you spot my two in the back?

On the boardwalk….down by the SEA! (Did you sing it?)  ðŸ™‚

Our party of five

By the end of dinner, Nixon had fallen asleep like this and I was holding a sleeping Bowen.  We were wiped!!
Day 8:
We started off the last day slowly.  Everyone slept in and then we hit up Waffle House.

A little sidenote-for my school sponsored senior trip, we took a chartered bus all the way to Tampa, Florida. The bus was part of some program and would ONLY stop at certain gas stations.  Every gas station only had a Waffle House as the food option.  So on that trip, we probably had Waffle House no less than six times in a seven day period.  Needless to say, I’m good with never eating at one again, but Tab was pumped!!  So I obliged.  ðŸ™‚  And clearly the kiddos were fans.

After a full day of the beach and pool, the condos were having crafts in the evening and then a night time movie.  Ebby Lee painted an octopus jewelry box.

Nixon mastered a flip off the side of the pool.

Marla brought some really cool glow-in-the-dark bubbles that were so cool in the jar but didn’t work in bubble form.

We shut down the pool and then went up to get ready for bed.

Day 9:
This cutie talked me into Starburst on the way back home.  You better believe I said, “Sure”.  We were soaking up the last day of vacation.

After fourteen hours of traveling, (we stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner and that was a BIG delay) we finally made it home to this creepy guy.  hahaha!

Vacations are the best, but it’s always nice to be home.
Tomorrow I have one of my VERY favorite people sharing her crazy!  You don’t wanna miss it. 🙂

Unrelated to the vacation post, but what do you use in your boys hair? I've got two boys and have tried a few products, but none of them
I've been crazy about. Whatever product you use looks like it holds up really well through out the day cause their hair always looks good in every post!
