Decluttering With Me…Take Two

Last month, I shared my crazy chaotic super messy office-both the before and after of the decluttering process.  Lots of you e-mailed me pictures of the progress you’re making in your own home after that post.  You’re doing GREAT!  If I’m being honest, my goal was one room a week but I learned pretty quickly that was a bit lofty, so now I’m shooting more for one a month.

I started at my front door…so office first and then I moved onto the front room which was crazy easy because there’s hardly anything to declutter.  Decluttering this room was basically like when you add something like “Brush your teeth” to your to-do list just so you have something to cross off quickly.  It just feels good crossing it off.  RIGHT?!

You could definitely call this cabinet a “catch all”.  Christmas Vacation Village House, books, candles, and workout equipment is definitely a random mix.  But somehow I managed to pull a BAG of trash out of this cabinet!

The other set of cabinets {the lighting was BAD} houses all of our cold weather gear like scarves, gloves, beanies, etc.

For real-anyone else see so many trash bags from rooms in your house and think, “WHERE WAS I KEEPING ALL THAT STUFF?!”.  I always have mixed feelings of embarrassment and shock!

Since the front room really didn’t count, I moved over to the dining room as well.

This buffet was full of randomness and look-NOW I HAVE EMPTY DRAWERS AND CABINETS!

If you’ve been working on ALL THINGS DECLUTTERING-this post was meant simply to inspire you to keep going!  It’s short and sweet, but just a reminder of when it’s all finished we’re gonna feel SO GOOD!

My guest bedroom and Britt’s closet are up next!  What room are you working on next?

Here’s to a weekend full of decluttering!  Have a great day!
XO

The two junk drawers and the two junk cabinets in the kitchen are enough to bring me to my knees. You're doing great!

Since I've set a goal of decluttering we've had constant illness and chaos! But this weekend I am determined, and praying, to make some progress #sendhelp

I have been slowly making it through the rooms at my house and I find it hard to keep motivation. I get one room done then just look around and see the 800 other areas that are in need of a clean.

I got my 8 year old daughter to go through all of the clothes in her room. It was hard for me to let her pick what we were keeping and she got rid of 3 giant garbage bags!

You should try the 40 bags in 40 days printable that Mel has. It feels so good to cross just 1 cabinet off the list: http://thelarsonlingo.blogspot.com/2018/02/40-bags-in-40-days-2018.html

That last meme is just so accurate!! (They all are but that one is spot on! haha) I've been slowly decluttering my house too and I've had bags and bags of garbage or donations. It feels so good!
