Christmas Break 2024

Hey Hey Hey Friends! I hope you guys had a great Christmas and Winter Break. Today is our last official day of break before the regular routines start back over tomorrow. I hope you guys had a chance to be surrounded by the ones you love most, rest, relax, and remember the true reason for all the celebrations!

Stepping away from this space and taking a break is always so good for my soul. It gets me excited about the new year, new ideas, and I’m always eager to get back with you!

Thanks to many of YOUR suggestions, I have some fun things lined up for the new year! Before I get to all that, I thought I’d share a big recap of all the fun we had over our Christmas Break…

One busy night in December, I got to spend the evening with these pretty ladies for a little Christmas dinner.

Britt is participating in the upcoming Talent Show at her school. Her crew had a special visitor during their first practice.

To kickoff all the Christmas celebrations {and the start of the break}, we hosted Tab’s mom’s family for Christmas. My favorite charcuterie board business delivered this delicious board for our festivities.

Tab’s brother and his sister along with all their families joined us for the day.

We had a house full of fun, played games, ate some yummy food, and got to catch up.

This little combo was in attendance as well. 😉

The girls 🙂

The “outlaws”….hahahaha! We’re the crew who married into the family.

And ALL the grandkids!

The fun continued the next day with our annual carriage ride with the Shull Crew!

Christmas lights + friends + carriage ride + dinner afterwards=Magical Night

Look who I talked into going to the gym with me! We took this sweaty pic afterwards to send to Tab to show him proof!

Have you EVER seen cuter pajamas? #dogmom

On Christmas Eve Eve I made a yummy lasagna, we watched Christmas movies and had a relaxing night in. These pajamas finally arrived so I let everyone open an early gift. Needless to say, Tab was a BIT surprised about his new pjs’s. 😉

We were definitely the two most excited about wearing Champ pajamas!

Christmas Eve was a bit different than normal but Santa came early, we went to the early Christmas Eve service at church, went home to pack and were off…

My third row seat buddies…long story but Champ became a world traveler {or maybe I should say a state to state traveler}over the break. Since our plan was to be out of town for really just one night {and about 18 hours} we decided to take Champ to Houston for the football game.

Christmas Day was a little different than normal when we found ourselves at the football stadium in Houston for the big Christmas Day game.

Being with my favorite people makes any holiday extra special!

And that cutie #110 down on the field. 😉

Did you watch Beyonce’s half time performance? The props were outstanding and over-the-top! If you saw the beginning part of the show her background said, “My House”, and the letters were white while the backdrop was blue. Our section was part of that blue.

This was my view. hahaha!

I was super impressed with the half time performance!

We drove home after the game {Champ had waited at the hotel for us}, slept super late the next day, and then got to celebrate Christmas with M & G. She made a DELICIOUS beef tenderloin I’m going to have to get the recipe for and share with you.

We typically go to Dallas on Christmas Eve with M & G for a fun night out but due to football we had to rearrange our schedule a bit. We first hit up Highland Park Village to see those festive lights one more time.

Then we followed it up with a dinner at Bob’s Steakhouse.

We’ve sat at the same table the last two years we visited. What are the odds?!

Such a FUN night out!

The next evening Tab and I had a date night with some new friends!

Then we {along with Champ, I’m telling you he was a TRAVELER this year} drove to Missouri to see our Missouri family. We had lunch with Grandpa & Grandma Hency {my mom’s parents}. They are absolutely precious, so super sweet, and it was amazing to get to spend an afternoon with them.

We had a New Year’s Eve dinner at a local BBQ restaurant {Hickory Log, for those MO natives} with cousins.

New Year’s Day we spent time with even more family.

My cousin, Whitney, hosted us for lunch and some football watching. It was so good to get to catch up with them and see them for a bit {along with my brother and sister-in-law}.

We also got to sneak in some time with Grandma & Grandpa Campbell {my dad’s parents}. It was also so good to see them, share some laughs, and sneak a few hugs before we had to get back to Texas.

We managed to hit up downtown McKinney when we were back for another night out {because what is a Christmas Break without all the Food & Festivities?}.

Part of my crew while we waited for our table. The other half was checking out the square.

I think it’s official…you’re now all caught up with my life. :). Welcome back, friends! I’m so glad you’re here with me in the New Year! Happy 2025! It’s gonna be a good one.

XO
