Okay, everyone!
A lot has happened since my last post-adoption update…
Miss Britt started preschool and she went from the age of two to the age of five overnight. Or at least that’s how it felt to me! ha!
Her vocabulary is really taking off…I attribute it to preschool, bi-weekly speech visits, and time. Sometimes we all just need a little time. Right?
We’ve slowly gone from just getting her to make sounds in general, to mimicking words we say, to identifying things when asked, and just yesterday in the car she said, “Mom, Balloon”. {There was a hot air balloon out her window.} All unprompted. All on her own. We’re making progress, friends.
Physically, she’s also doing really well. She runs, jumps, forward rolls like a champ, climbs up and down the stairs, and is a dancing queen. It’s hard to believe just a year ago {ish} she was starting to walk!
She doesn’t hide her personality at home, but when we’re out she’s opening up more and more to let others see that little personality. She found these goggles and insisted she wear them around the house before nap time. I’m certain she could see absolutely nothing, but she was so happy.
We don’t have any surgeries on the immediate radar. She’ll have one prior to going to kindergarten, but that’s a long way away. For now, we’re enjoying life!
Adoption is such a blessing. Friends, I’m praying today if this is something God has placed on your heart you’ll act on it. We could have missed this and I pray you don’t.

The temperatures are supposed to be Texas-winter-type-cool here…think 40’s! EEK! I’m off to find a coat and get my soup put in the slow cooker.

"Mom, balloon" is HUGE! A two word phrase where she got your attention AND shared information with you! GO BRITT!!!
Yesterday, when she said, "Mom, love you" as she walked off…I about bawled!!!! She is just so precious!!!
She is looking extra cute in those googles! What a sweet and precious girl!

I was just about to leave the same comment that Shay did!! I seriously teared up when she called that out from across the bleachers before she ran off to play!! I mean. Could it get any sweeter than that!?!
