On Thursday, May 17th, Bowen Hency Slaughter graduated pre-k.
I’m not certain, but I think I’ll look back on this day as one I’ll remember forever…in the sweet, simple, and great day kind of way. I sure don’t want to forget it so I thought I’d share it with all of you. 🙂
This girly and I got to the sanctuary early to save some seats. She was looking summer ready in her Lilly Pulitzer {inspired by Southern Charm, of course}. She had her hair in a cute bow and fun little jellies on and by the time Tab arrived the bow was MIA and we were down one shoe.
The graduates marched in wearing shirts they’d painted themselves. The theme was, “We Are All God’s Masterpiece”. So it was absolutely perfect!
The graduates all sit in the center rows.
Pastor Sam kicked off the ceremony and the festivities began…
They had a cute little video asking each graduate what they want to be when they grow up. Bowen told me about the video earlier in the week and when I asked him what he said, “He forgot”. I had no clue what was gonna be up on that screen. 🙂
They sang a couple songs.
They played slow, sappy music to mess with my emotions. haha! Just kidding. But it totally happened!
And then just like that…he graduated.
After the graduation, we went back to his classroom for a little cookie/lemonade reception. He was so glad M got to come!
Crazy to think this duo will be hitting the halls of elementary school in the fall. Watch out, kindergarten! Here they come!
We’re so so proud of this guy!
Right after this picture, we told Bowen and Ashby instead of staying at school the rest of the day, we were gonna take them out to eat lunch and swim all afternoon.
Congrats, Graduates!

We left school, put on our suits, Favored us some lunch, and spent the rest of the day pool side.
Everyone was EXCITED!!
We swam, played, ate, and just had the best afternoon. I’m telling you…I’ll look back on May 17th and always remember it as a great day.
We ended the afternoon with popsicles before picking up the big kiddos from school.
And since we’d been outside all day the two littles and I were so tired. We were showered and ready for bed before 6:00. hahaha! Early bedtimes were calling!
I must tell you I will miss this boy like CRAZY! But there’s such a difference between a spring birthday and a fall birthday kiddo. It might have something to do with being the third as well, but he’s so ready for kindergarten. I’ll be sad to see him go for my mama-sake, but for him, I’m so excited and know he will have a BLAST!
In the mean time, I’m gonna snuggle him as much as he’ll let me and I plan on continuing that ALL SUMMER LONG. Squeeze those babies a little harder today, Mamas. Ready or not, they’ll grow up.
